The West Michigan Mustang Club Monthly Board Meeting 4.10.17 – Aberdeen Reformed Church
The April meeting of the West Michigan Mustang Club was held at Aberdeen Reformed Church and was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Chris Stawasz.
Present were: Chris Stawasz, Phil Gibson, Gene Gibson, Ron & Vicki Wilton, Dave & Cindy Dunn, Neil & Carol Keegstra, Joe DiLorenzo, Dick & Sue Engel, Dave & Heidi Mull, Tom & Julie Miller, Lori Stolte, Gary & Ginny Marble, Scott Broekema, Darrell Meyering, Steve Morgan and Lynn Trestrail.
Secretary Report: The Secretary report was read and minor corrections were made. After the corrections, a motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
Treasurer Report: The report was reviewed and all expenses and income were explained and detailed. Our balance is a little lower than this time last year but some show expenses have already been incurred and show registrations have only begun to come in. We still have a healthy balance. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the Treasury report.
Activities: Dave and Heidi reported that all is in order for the National Mustang Day Cruise. The window clings were ordered and received. The cruise will be repeated on May 6 with the Club meeting at Byron Center High School. The group will leave at 11 am. The cruise will be to Hamilton with a lunch stop at the Trestle Stop Restaurant. Following will be a cruise for dessert at Mooville. The cruise will be repeated on May 6 with perhaps a route change. Be ready to leave BCHS at 11 am.

June 17 – Frontline church – 36th Annual WMMC Mustang and All Ford Show 8 am to 230 pm. Goodie bags will be prepared the night before the show at Aberdeen Church. We need lots of VOLUNTEERS to make the show a success. Please call to volunteer. Traci Stawasz: 616 334 2919 or email Traci Stawasz trstawasz@outlook.com.
June 24 – Summer picnic at Ronda and Bryan Houseman’s. Meat is provided by the Club. Please bring your own beverage, place setting, dish to pass and serving sthingy.
July 4 – Grandville parade. RSVP by June 1 if you are interested in going. More details to come next month.
July 15 – Spectrum Health Rehab and Nursing Center car show. 11 am – 2 pm. No pre-registration. Gifts to first 100 cars registered. 750 Fuller NE
July 28 -Car show at Rick Bishop’s church in Charlotte MI. Please RSVP to Rick if you plan to go as space is limited.
July 29 – Picnic at Cisler’s. Details to follow.
August 5 - Cruise to Gale Halderman’s museum in Tip City (near Dayton), Ohio. Details to follow on the cruise. Please RSVP by 7.15.17 if you plan to go so food can be ordered. Food will be $10 per person and checks should go directly to Lori Stolte. (WMMC PO BOX 436 Ada, MI 49301.) Anyone staying is responsible for their own accommodations. Some cars are going separately. Watch for news for anyone going as a group.
August 26 – Grand Rapids Metro Cruise. Phil was contacted about another gathering site at Pietro’s in addition to our usual Borgman location. More details as time gets closer.
August 27 – Blue Oval Cruise.
Sept 10 – Gilmore Museum Car Show. Participants will meet at the Caledonia D&W. More details to follow.
Sept 22-24 Fall 2017 Cruise to Crooked River Lodge in Alanson, MI. Please contact the Mull’s and the Inn directly if interested in going. There are a few rooms available but you MUST mention that you are with the WMMC group when calling the Inn for reservations.
October 14 – Taco Night at Resurrection Church. Set up at 4 pm, dinner 4-8 pm.
November 11 – Christmas Holiday Gathering, Resurrection Church, set up at 4 pm, celebration 5-9 pm. There will be dinner, Board officer elections, gift exchange and donations for Toys for Tots.
NOTE: THE HOLIDAY DINNER IS NOW MOVING BACK TO NOVEMBER!!! ELECTIONS WILL BE CONDUCTED THAT EVENING. ALL POSITIONS AND MEMBERS AT LARGE ARE AVAILABLE. PLEASE NOTIFY ANY BOARD MEMBER IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR A POSITION.
February 10, 2018 – Pizza party at Resurrection Church. Set up at 4 pm. Pizza party from 5-8 pm.
March 10, 2018 Chili Palooza – set up at 4 pm. Party from 5-8 pm.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR SET UP AND CLEAN UP FOR ALL OUR GATHERINGS. PLEASE SHOW UP TO HELP.
Dave and Heidi are working on Fall Cruise 2018. They are getting prices of venues for accommodations as well as food. More details to follow.
Phil received a Facebook message asking cars to come to the Relay for Life Show at 5/3 Ballpark on 4.29.17. The event is 3-9 pm and the car show would be 3-6 pm. Please contact Phil if you are interested in going. He has the contact information for Clifford Copp.
Heidi will contact Barber Ford regarding a Show and Shine.
If anyone is contacted about an area event please let Phil Gibson or Dave Dunn know about it so it can go on the website calendar.
The Club is going to be compiling a Standard Operating Procedure Manuel that details all the Club events; contact information and steps that need to be followed for a successful event. A document has already been started and will be seen through to completion. This will be kept and used as a guide for Club events.
Membership: Sue Engel is handling membership. Lori receives the money and then sends the member information to Sue for the roster. Lori has a complete roster that she shares with Sue and Lynn.
MCA: Tom and Julie Miller report that the first MCA show of the year was in Pensacola, FL. 2 cars from WMMC attended and both won gold. Dick and Sue Engel received gold for their 1969 Mach 1 Cobra Jet and Tom and Julie Miller won for their 2007 GT. Tom and Julie also received a Pinnacle award for Best Modified Mustang for 2016.
MCA news: Judging is being reviewed in all classes. Occasionally and Daily driven vehicles are being looked at for a larger point spread.
4th generation SN95 will be split into two groups 94-98 and 99-04 for Concourse and unrestored.
Modified is being looked at for a new on line modification list with a standardized set of points for each modification.

Design 1 wants to donate for the raffle table again.
Farm and Home wants to donate to the Show.
Parking Lot lay out. This will be determined by our parking experts.
We will have 57 trophies for 19 car classes. 6 Ford Awards, 3 Truck awards. 1 kids, 1 lady’s choice, 1 Best of Show
Best Paint, Best Interior and Best Engine will also be awarded.
We will have Dash Plaques again this year and Phil showed the design for a 3x4 plague. It has the same yellow Mustang on it that the flyers have.
The Class Sponsor sheet has been updated with Treasurer address on it. Since Lori does the banking the forms will go to her and she will deposit the checks.
