MCA Report: we have 40 MCA members in our Club. Tom and Julie are working on the report for the President Award. If you intend to renew your MCA membership and have not, please renew and let Miller’s know. The following is the MCA report: March 12, 2018 MCA Report
On a personal note. Just like our WMMC, MCA is part of our extended mustang family. At our first MCA show in Asheville NC, we met a wonderful elderly couple, Doug & Rita who asked to sit at our table for the awards ceremony. They are owners of a 1 of 1 Mustang II and also Doug was an engineer at Ford. The next time we saw them was at the Mustang 50th in Charlotte, NC. We spent some time with them talking about our mustangs and family. Not long after the 50th Doug called to tell us Rita had a stroke. At the show in Savannah, GA. we saw them drive in and went to see them. We spent the evening driving around Savannah in their truck and had dinner in town with them. In 2016, after not hearing from them for some time. Doug emailed Julie and invited us to have dinner with their family in Detroit. They were there for the Mustang II reunion. We decided to go and we are glad we did. Our first show we are going to this year is in Grovetown, GA, not far from their home. We had planned on visiting them on the way back. We were told on February 19th that Rita had passed away the night before & Doug was in the hospital for knee surgery. The reason I’m writing about Doug & Rita is that we have made a lot of lifelong friends from all over going to MCA shows.
If you get Mustang Times in the March 2018 issue on page 54 is a wonderful article on making friends.
