SHOW WRAP UP and SUGGESTIONS FOR 2019
1. Confirm date. Frontline church must confirm.
2. All specialty ballots, i.e., Kids Choice, Ladies Choice, Spectator Choice, best paint, best engine, best interior ballots need a spot for the car Class as well as Reg number.
3. Walkie Talkies
4. The Ford Mustang Trailer was unable to come. Try to get a sooner confirmation.
5. Brenspeed didn’t come and many wanted to see that truck. Try to get a firm confirmation.
6. Promote Steve’s DJ business on our website.
7. All ‘Young Enthusiasts’ might get a free year membership. This will be discussed more in detail.
8. Not enough volunteers. Try to get more members to volunteer for at least a four-hour block if not a whole day.
9. Each area needs a coordinator for the volunteers for that area i.e., raffle, door prize, parking etc.
The Raffle did well this year and brought in $740. That is up from last year. Thank you to all who donated raffle table items. $227 was raised in the 50/50.
We had a total of 114 cars. We had 31 pre-registered cars who were a no show. However, our sponsors were generous, and the show was paid for before the date. It looks like we will make a nice profit and have monies to donate.
We discussed many options for charities We discussed ‘Lori’s Voice’- who provides wheelchairs and ramps for handicapped folks to go down the beach to the lake. We talked about the ‘Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fun.” This is not the same as Wounded Warriors. Wounded Warriors has a high overhead cost and at the end of the day, little goes to the veterans. The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund states no less than 90% goes to the veterans. We talked about the Blumberg’s equestrian program and PORT, pediatric oncology resource team at HDVCH. Aberdeen church and Frontline will also be on our donation list. We will discuss this more in July and August.
The next meeting will be July 9 will a pre-meeting supper at Culver’s on Alpine.
The meeting was adjourned at 900 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Trestrail
