WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB BOARD MEETING JULY 9,2018 ABERDEEN REFORMED CHURCH
The meeting was called to order by the President, Chris Stawasz at 704 pm.
Present were Phil Gibson, Gene Gibson, Joe DiLorenzo, Neil and Carol Keegstra, Scott and Gail Broekema, Gary and Ginny Marble, Dave and Heidi Mull, Dave and Cindy Dunn, Pete VanderVeen, Ron and Vicki Wilton, Lori Stolte, Tom and Julie Miller, Darrell Meyering, Sue Engel, Chris Stawasz and Lynn Trestrail.
The Club will have supper at Fred’s Pizza between 5-530 before the next meeting on August 6, 2018.
Secretary Report: The minutes of the June 11 meeting were read. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
Treasury Report: The Treasury report was distributed and reviewed. All expenses were explained. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the report.
Activities: Heidi asked if Thank you notes were done for the dealerships and Lynn reported they were done and sent. There was discussion on making ‘thank you’ plaques for the dealerships and entities that hold events for the Club. There was a long discussion on what kind of thank you to give to featured sponsors, regular sponsors and donors as well as our Show and Shine hosts.
The Borgman Show and Shine featuring John Clor will be Wed. July 11, 2018.
The Zeeland show is July 14. The Spectrum Health Fuller Campus show is also July 14.
Bill Cisler called and wondered about a picnic at Lincoln Lake. He was advised that we had not heard from them and were unsure of their health. It was decided that it was too late to try to add a picnic to the calendar. Bill did report that they are in good health.
Heidi reported that there are 35-36 reservations for the fall cruise and a few rooms are available. Please contact the Mulls if interested in going.
October 6 Taco night. Remembrance Church. Set up at 4 p. Eat 5-8 pm, clean up.
Nov 10 Christmas dinner at Remembrance. Election of officers. Set up at 4 pm, mingle at 5, business meeting, eat at 6 pm, gift exchange. Make out checks to WMMC and mail checks to Heidi directly. 11435 Prairie Ave, Allendale, MI 49401. $12.50 per single, $25 per couple. Reservations are due by 10.26.18.
February 9, 2019 Pizza party. Set up at 4, party 5-8, clean up.
March 9, 2019 Chili Palooza . Set up at 4, party 5-8, clean up.
The deposits have been paid for use of the church. Events will be downstairs except the Christmas party which will be upstairs.
Cellar Brewing in Sparta is owned by the daughter of club members, Dave and Nancy Reed. She would like to host an event for the Club at her establishment. There was discussion about whether we should go there since we are a non-alcohol club and she serves alcohol. She also brews root beer. It was pointed out that Cheer’s serves alcohol and we go there, Fred’s sells alcohol and we go there. Members must remember that we are a non-alcohol club when going to events where alcohol is served.
Membership: Sue Engel reported that we now have 215 families in the Club!
Pete VanderVeen reports that he has every Hoofbeats since the Club was founded. Tom Miller was our historian. He will be asked if will take the Hoofbeats to add to the archives.
Merchandise: Joe reports there is nothing to report.
July 9, 2018 MCA Report
The MCA Pony Express National Show is this coming weekend in Lincoln, NE. There will be a large display of 1968 Mustangs at the show. The West Michigan Mustang Club has two cars going. Good luck to all!
The Granite State Mustang Grand National Show is being held at the Anheuser Busch Brewery in Merrimack, NH with a Thursday, night boat cruise of Portsmouth Harbor. Friday, registration and some judging. Saturday, the car show and judging from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm then a casino night with an Italian dinner. All to benefit The Shriners Children’s Hospital. Sunday is the car show and awards.
As of July 9, 2018, we currently have 40 MCA members from our club. If you are an MCA member and haven’t given us your MCA number, please do so. We need to keep track of current MCA members to keep our regional club status with MCA.

WMMC Show 2019 - We hope to get the ok from the church for a June 8 show.
Lori presented the WMMC Car Show treasury report. We have made a profit. Several charities were discussed for donation. There was a lot of discussion about what we need to keep in the account as a ‘rainy day fund’ in case we don’t have enough sponsors to cover the show. We also discussed the insurance deductible and what we would have to keep for that in case there is a claim. Final decisions on donations to charities will be made in August.
Next meeting August 6 with supper before hand at Fred’s Pizza. They are a sponsor for our Show.
