West Michigan Mustang Club Board Meeting May 13, 2019 Aberdeen Reformed Church
Present were: Tom and Julie Miller, Dave and Cindy Dunn, Dick and Suellen Engle, Dave and Heidi Mull, Ron and Vicki Wilton, Neil and Carol Keegstra, Rick and Cindy Bishop, Gary and Ginny Marble, Jim Tower, Lori Stolte, Scott Broekema, Joe DiLorenzo, Gene Gibson and Lynn Trestrail.
President Tom Miller called the meeting to order at 702 pm.
Scott announced that the church has had some good fortune and we should have a meeting place through the end of the year. Scott also announced the sad news that the 37 year old son of Jim and Carol Tower passed away unexpectedly on April 30. The Board offered sincere condolences on their loss.
Secretary report: Kevin Guzniczak was absent, and Lynn Trestrail read the minutes of the April meeting. Several corrections were made: Dick and Suellen Engle were not at the April meeting as reported. Mark Quarto was present (not Mark Quartz as stated.) The minutes read at the April meeting were the March minutes, not the January minutes as stated.
After noting corrections, a motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
Treasury report: Lori Stolte distributed the treasury report with details of Club income and expenses. Lori requested that if any Club members purchases something for the Club Show, to please turn in the receipt so she can calculate the exact cost of the show.
Merchandise: Joe DiLorenzo has inventory ready for the show. Commemorative show shirts will be ordered about May 21. Right now we have 32 pre-orders for show shirts. There was a lot of discussion on how many more shirts to order for the show. We will order more and should have plenty to sell.
Activities: Heidi Mull reported that 37 Mustangs showed up for the Mustang Day Cruise. Some cars joined along the way for a total of 42. People joined the Club that day and we have five new members.
-The Tri-Unity graduation is May 28. Carol requests one more car to drive the 17 graduates. We have been asked to drive for graduation next year also. There will be 30 graduates next year.
-Seelye Ford is NOT doing a car show this year.
-Tapper Ford in Paw Paw will have their show June 1.
-June 8 is the WMMC show at Frontline Church at Plainfield and Five Mile.
-Big Boy on Wilson will have a Cruise in on June 20, July 18 and August 15. It’s from 330 – 900 pm
-June 15 is the Lori’s Voice Walk for the Challenged at Berlin Raceway. It is from 930 – 1130. There was some discussion of having some cars present to park by the track.
-June 15 at 900 am. Auto Gallery is hosting a show.
-June 18 Gemmens Hardware in Hudsonville is hosting the show by Autobody Experts. Register from 4-6 and show from 6-9.
-June 19 Show and Shine at Borgman Ford 5-8 pm.
-June 22 Houseman’s summer picnic. 4-8 pm. Take your own chairs, drinks and a dish to pass.
-July 4. There is a Grandville parade. Mull’s will not be available to lead this. If someone is interested in leading this, please contact Dave and Heidi. The deadline to register for this parade is May 31 so time is short.
-July 12 Zeeland Cruise. Line up from 5-6 pm.
-July 13 Zeeland – Mustang Ally Meet at Family Fare
-July 20 Wayland Show at Gun Lake. Registration from 930-1100, show is 1100-500 pm.
-July 26 Lawrence Ave United Methodist Church in Charlotte, MI. This is Rick Bishop’s church. There is no registration fee and there is free food. Show is from 5-9 pm.
-Aug 3 Knapp Street Show 3-4 registration, Show 4-7. Registration is $10.
-Aug 10 Essenhaus in Indiana
-Aug 11 Heidi thought this might be the South Haven fly / cruise in. More information later.
-Aug 14 Barber Ford Show and Shine 5 pm
-Aug 15 Big Boy on Wilson
-Aug 17 North Blendon Show 430-700 pm
-Aug 24 Metro Cruise 10 am. Borgman Ford. You must be a member of the Club to enjoy the picnic and have a ticket to turn in.
-Aug 25 Blue Oval Blast in Grand Ledge 8 am registration
-Sept 8 Gilmore Show and Swap Meet 8 am registration
-Sept 27 – 29 Color Tour Cruise. If interested contact the Mull’s.
-Oct 12 Taco night. Set up at 4 pm. 4-8 pm
-Nov 7 Auto Gallery is having an open house.
-Nov 9 Christmas Dinner. Adeline Leigh catering. More info later.

Considering a night out for bowling in January.

-March 14 Chili Palooza
If we lose our meeting place Heidi said we can use a room at their church for $40/night.

Membership – as of the meeting night as had 205 members. Suellen also reports she is doing well.
Merchandise – Joe reports that he has merchandise for show. Last years show shirts can be sold for $10.
MCA Report Tom reported that 4 cars will be going to the Northern Star show in MN. Tom also distributed a schedule of events for a typical MCA show.
New Business – none
Show Business – Kevin was absent so Dave presented the update. We did receive items from National Vendors and we have lots of goody bags and lots for door prizes.
Some of the class signs were confusing as there was writing on both sides. Cropmarks will do the letters for the signs. Kevin will contact Cropmarks for sponsor sign.
Gene finished the lot lay out.
The New ballot books are printed.
Registration will add “YE” to the dash plaques for the young enthusiasts.
Trophies are being done. Clarence Worst is sponsoring ‘Best of Show’.
Friday night 5 pm, Frontline Church – will set up for the show at the show location. The church will have a 4 person staff at all times we are in the church. The Church has been added to our insurance.
June 3 is a pre-show meeting.
June 10 will be our after-show meeting.
The DJ is set.
We have Boy Scouts for an honor guard for the National Anthem.
The banner will be displayed the week of the show.
