I have a 08 GT that I would like some mild engine mods done to. Nothing to radical, maybe an intake, exhaust and tune?
I am not great with a wrench, so I am looking for someone to make a recommendation and do the work. I have located someone in Spring Lake but he is a GM guy...
Anyone have any referrals for a Ford guy (or gal)?
Thanks!
Ken

Ken, you can do the work yourself its easy. This is what I did. I first put on a C&L cold air intake but you can use the CAI (cold air intake) you wish. Then I got a Ford Racing intake manifold and put on a full JBA exhaust w/long tube headers, hi flow cats and axle back mufflers. I did it in my garage over a weekend, probably a days worth of work. I contacted and bought my stuff from Paul's Hi-performance in Jackson Mi. I then had them tune and run it on the dyno. Your car will have to be tuned after this work and Paul's is the place to have it done. Give them a call and they can make recommendations. They could also do the work. You would save a lot of money putting on the parts yourself. Give me a call if you have any questions, Chris Stawasz, 616-454-0673

FYI - I've bought all my stuff on www.americanmuscle.com, shipping is free and tunes for life from Bama. They have a lot to choose from and I have never had any problems with them and they also have installation guides for most of their stuff.

I also contacted American Muscle, Summit and others but I got different stories on what would give the best performance and horse power for my money. Another club member recommended Paul's Hi-performance, so after that and reading several articles about Pauls in 5.0 and Muscle Mustangs I called them and went with their suggestions.

Another good company is Brenspeed. They are in Northern Indiana. They can do mild to wild mods. They also have buildings that you can hang in during the day while they work on your car.

its good to be a DIY person. some cai`s like the c&l or jlt "require" a tune to run it, and thats the ones you`ll want to choose from. you might want to think about buying a combo from someone of a cai and a hand held tuner/with a few different tunes for different octanes. your gonna save a little money with the combo. c&l can hook you up, as well as american muscle, brenspeed etc. if your running regular fuel, you`ll need a tune for 87, but the race tunes (which you will want) will only come in 91 or 93 octane. you`ll need to run the right tune for the octane fuel you are using.
then you can install the intake and install a tune to run it yourself. thats real easy stuff. then you can drive to get your other parts installed and maybe go get it dyno`d and get the custom dyno tune installed on your tuner. you have alot of options
