HI Folks, I just found out one of my cams is broken on my '99 Cobra, major bummer. The engine only has around 70,000 on it. The cam is hollow, with the lobes pressed on. I can't do it myself. My wife is not a happy camper (me neither). I've not seen any articles about this, is this a common problem? I don't race it or anything, just the normal exit ramp blasts. Any recommendations on a shop to repair it? One shop recommended was Steve Moris racing Engines in Muskegon. I'm looking for advice and leads. Should I have a complete rebuild? Should I get rid of it? I live in Muskegon. I'd like to talk with someone, or even sometwo! Thanks, Jim

I stopped by Heritage Service Centre here in Grand Rapids and mentioned it to them. They said they could work on anything and did seem surprised at a broken camshaft. Although I couldn't tell them how it was broke. (couldn't remember what you wrote). I'm sure they would answer your questions and point you in the right direction. Their PH# is 454-8104

Thank you for the response, the only one I received! I called all over and when I mentioned a broken camshaft, everyone said "huh?". This apparently is something that no one has heard of. Lucky me. It happened as I was pulling into a grocery store, just basically idling. Of course, it also took the head with it. It was towed to EPS Performance and Collision in Muskegon. They are almost done. Couldn't find suitable head, had to buy new after market. Bought new camshaft from Ford. I really like the car, but now...
