Yes they are painted and wet sanded smooth....it was a LOT more money but close up they look amazing! I had the rear louvers etc all painted to match perfect...just waiting for Great Lakes Chemical to be able to clear coat now. I have to wait 60 days.... They were done at Borgman by Ron who has done custom work for close to 30 years! I am VERY VERY PICKY! He did an Amazing job! Custom ordered the car from Jeremy at Borgman...Would have ordered a Boss however I wanted an automatic as I do not enjoy shifting....I know... I know....but its my dream car and I dont want to shift! I want to drive and enjoy I was told the boss etc....were not available in auto.....I didn't care for the exhaust so I put a flowmaster top of the line on it and now it sounds more like my 1970 fastback! Wish I could get the cam my 70 has.....I looked into supercharging her but it voids my warranty so day one after the warranty watch out!

I am not completely positive, but I have heard that a Ford Racing Performance Parts supercharger, installed by an authorized Ford dealer will allow you to keep tour warranty, or at least part of it. It might be worth looking into.
Also, once you feel like voiding your warranty or it runs out, I have read about a lot of people getting a custom tune for their car that has a "ghost cam" on it that basically gives it the old school loping idle that the classics have as well as a power increase. I don't know of anyone that has the ghost cam, but a couple of members have tuned their cars and have seen good bumps in power just from that and an intake.

I have the "ghost cam" tune on my 2011 GT. The tune is done by Jon Lund. The motor sounds like is has a big cam in. It does void the warranty but with all the mods on my car now that is a mute point. With the tune and other mods I have been dynoed at 450 hp at the flywheel which is a bit more than the Boss.I believe Phil is correct about the FRPP supercharger as long as it is installed by a Ford dealer and you keep the pulley they install with it. You could also check into the RoushCharger. I know they carry a 36 month warranty if installed on one of their cars but not sure if you took it to them to install if it would still be a warranty

I will look into the "ghost cam" and the warranty info THANKS so much for the information and help!!!!.... I love it that most people don't expect a woman to be this into cars... Everyone thinks it's my husbands...We stopped at Starbucks yesterday and I pulled in and a guy says to me "That sure is nice of your husband to let you drive his hot car" I looked at him and said "That's MY hot car!" Then the same thing happened at Logans when we went for dinner tonight....

Want to upgrade and improve the sound, loudness, etc. I too enjoy the classic muscle car sound. Had a 1969 Chevelle SS big block in high school. I have been listening to sound bytes for Borla, Magnaflow, etc. All seem to have a raspy cackle to them. I am looking for a lower rumble sound. What version of Flowmaster did you go with? Xpipe, Hpipe? I have heard that the xpipe creates the raspy sound. Would appreciate knowing what you did if you acheived the old muscle car sound.

We will have to get some specifics from someone who has done some exhaust mods to their GT for what their experience was for certain, but from everything I've seen anywhere, the X-Pipe is raspier than the H-Pipe. You might also want to look into stock GT500 mufflers. Listen to some sound clips for them and see how they compare to the others. I know nothing is as good as hearing them in person, but it might help. If you aren't in a rush, when spring hits and the cars start coming back out of hibernation, you can chat with other members and hear the cars in person to help with your decision. Also, American Muscle has a ton of sound clips on their site. If you haven't added those to your list of things to listen to for comparison, check the link out: www.americanmuscle.com/11-12-mustang-gt-gt500-exhaust-sound-clips.html

Thanks Phil. No rush. I agree, I would like to hear in person. I have listened to sound clips at Americam Muscle but all sound raspy to me. Might be the quality of the clip but not sure. I look forward to meeting in the spring. I plan on sending in an application for joining the club. Also, speed shops seem to be non existant in these parts. Any suggestions for exhaust system install, etc. when the time comes?

Yeah, there are only a few performance places in the area. The club has been to Steve Morris Engines in Holland and they really seem to know their stuff(a streetable 73 with 3000 HP you can see some pictures and video of some dyno runs of club members on our Facebook page. Other than that, I would have to let other hop in with their recommendations. If you want to, download the PDF file and fill it out to join us, or you can keep an eye on here or Facebook for info on our upcoming events and you can join us then. We will have info on our February and march events online soon.
