Greetings all,
I was curious if anyone knew of any shops that we could use the lift. I'm wanting to install a cat-back exhaust but to save some frustration was wanting to lift the car and make it easier. I've heard of self serve garages but none that I can find around here. I'd be more specifically looking in Kalamazoo if anyone knows.

I don't know of any West Michigan shops that will allow anyone to do that. Probably because of liability.

I know this is an older post, but I built some ramps out of wood to use to do work under the car like swapping exhaust. It is definitely safer than jack stands. If your car is lowered, sometimes you can't get a jack underneath it, so the ramps help there to. I would not recommend store bought drive on ramps unless they are really long and/or really expensive.
you just buy a bunch of 2x10's and then cut them to various length's to allow you to drive on them. Google "home made car ramps wood" for ideas. there are a few different designs. The longer the better/more stable. I think the ones I made are 2"x10"x16' at the base, so I can get all 4 wheels on the ramps if needed.
They weigh a ton, but they do work if you like to get under there to clean the car, swap parts that don't require you to unload the suspension, etc.
