WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB APRIL 11, 2016 ABERDEEN REFORMED CHURCH
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President, Rick Bishop.
Present were Dave and Cindy Dunn, Tom and Julie Miller, Jeff and Lori Stolte, Dave and Heidi Mull, Neil and Carol Keegstra, Chris and Traci Stawasz, Ron and Vicki Wilton, Gary and Ginny Marble, Joe DiLorenzo, Phil Gibson, Gene Gibson, Rick May, Scott Broekema, Jim and Lynn Trestrail and Rick Bishop.
Secretary: Members reviewed the minutes of the March meeting online prior to this evening’s meeting. There were no questions, comments, or corrections. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes. Motion passed: minutes approved.
Treasury: The Treasurer distributed the report. It was reviewed, income and expenses were explained and a motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the Treasury report.
Heidi Mull reported that the Club will meet in the K-Mart on 68th street parking lot on Sunday April 17. We plan to leave at 1200 pm and will head to the Blue Star Highway. We will celebrate National Mustang Day with a cruise to St. Joe. We will go to Silver Beach Pizzeria after the cruise.
On Saturday April 23, the Club will go to the Butterfly exhibit at Frederick Meijer Gardens. The cost is $10 CASH for each adult. Please RSVP to Dave and Heidi Mull. We will gather at 930 and will have designated parking. Please wear your WMMC name tag or a WMMC clothing. Reservations are made for lunch at Pizza Ranch.
Cisler’s want to plan a picnic again this year and will get back to us with dates. The Houseman’s want to have a picnic on July 16. We need to take a dish to pass and table service and drinks. Club will provide meat.
Rick confirmed with Bill Binning that the show at Seeley Ford will be June 11. Kevin asked Barber Ford and their show and shine will be August 11 from 4-8 and Keegstra’s will check with Borgman for date of Show and Shine.
Dave had no clothing news to report other than the T shirt order was placed.
Mark Long had no membership info to pass along. He has had serious shoulder surgery and cannot drive to GR for the meetings. Maybe next year to speed things along, we will have membership dues go directly to the Treasurer.
We are filing for an EIN number for the Club. Once that is done we will apply for nonprofit status. Chris and Lori have talked to the CPA with the MOCSEM Club. Lori is going to start through the paperwork to get the club filed as a 501C7. Every time the president or treasurer changes, or if either move, those changes will have to be reported to the state.
Tom Miller reports that there are 16 spots left at Niagara Falls for the MCA show. St Augustine show is next weekend and the Myrtle Beach show is in the Fall, Sept 30, Oct 1. No dates have been released for next year yet.
Gary Marble reported that Culver’s in Grand Haven wants to do a Tuesday night cruise in. Tony from the Club in Lansing also would like us to come to a cruise in. They have a big lot and good food and we would join the Capital Area Club.
Chris reports that the owner of the Alpine and Cascade Culvers would like a cruise in at the Cascade store. That would be a Wednesday night.
27 cars have been pre-registered for the show. There will be 2 $50 gift cards and the first 50 registered cars will be included in the drawing for those gift cards. So far we have 10 class sponsors. Roz wants to sponsor also.
Farmers insurance is interested in sponsoring the show.
There was a long discussion about our show awards and show sponsors. Next year we may restructure the sponsors into tiered levels. For example: Bronze, silver, gold and Platinum sponsors. We are looking into many ways to enhance sponsorship.
The trophies and dash plaques were decided upon. These will be ordered to be ready in time for the show.
The Church would like to have a new Mustang on display prior to the show. Several of the local dealers will be contacted to see if they are interested.
Traci Stawasz is working on the volunteer list. Volunteers are needed for the show. Please contact a board member to volunteer.
The meeting was adjourned at pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Trestrail, Secretary
