West Michigan Mustang Club August 8 2016
The first meeting of the 2016-2017 car show season was held at Aberdeen Reformed Church and called to order by the President Rick Bishop at 7:00 pm.
Present were: Rick Bishop, Scott Broekema, Ron and Vicki Wilton, Chris and Mary Stawasz, Joe DiLorenzo, Steve Morgan, Gene Gibson, Dave and Heidi Mull, Dave and Cindy Dunn, Gary and Ginny Marble, Lori Stolte, Julie and Tom Miller and Lynn Trestrail.
The Secretary report was read. One less couple than was reported at the last meeting went to New York. Hixson’s were unable to attend. A motion was made by Gene and seconded by Ron to approve the minutes. Motion passed.
The Treasury Report was distributed and reviewed. Donation ($500) was made to Frontline Church and presented to the pastor. The donation ($500) to Aberdeen church will be presented this weekend.
Chris reported that there are 10-14 trophies left over from the show. These can be used for the awards next year.
We have been invited to return to Frontline Church next year. The date is still undetermined. We are hoping to get more sponsors next year so the cost of the porta potties can be defrayed.
The Club purchased a banner ($150) to be hung at the ground breaking of the National Mustang Owners Museum. This Banner will come back to the Club and we can display it at our events. The Club also agreed to purchase a brick for the museum. If we are one of the first 500 purchased, a representative of the Club will be asked to go to the placement of the bricks. Several Club members have also purchased personal bricks. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the purchase of a brick with the Club name on it. The brick will say “West Michigan Mustang Club” on line 1; “Established 1981” on line 2; “Join The Stampede” on line 3 and the running horse logo will be below that.
Heidi said that she has reserved the “Party Room” at the inn on Saturday night of the fall cruise. 37 rooms have been reserved.
