WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB BOARD OF OFFICERS MEETING JANUARY 8, 2018
ABERDEEN REFORMED CHURCH
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm by President Chris Stawasz.
Dinner will be at Taco Bell on Plainfield prior to the next meeting. Meet between 5-530 pm.
Present were: Cindy and Dave Dunn, Suellen and Dick Engel, Lori Stolte, Gail and Scott Broekema, Ginny and Gary Marble, Monica and Bob Sackett, Carol and Neil Keegstra, Steve Morgan, Gene Gibson, Phil Gibson, Vicki and Ron Wilton, Kevin Gruzniczak, Chris Stawasz and Lynn Trestrail.
Secretary report: The secretary report was read. There was one correction on the date of next year’s show. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
Treasury report: Lori distributed the Treasury report to the members. She went over the numbers and there were no questions. Motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
Activities: Our outing for Grand Rapids Glow Golf is on 1.13.18. Dave and Heidi are not going to be available, but Dave and Cindy Dunn volunteered to take over and manage this outing. It is from 430-630 pm and is located off Plainfield near 4 mile. We will have unlimited golf and the Dunn’s will gets subs from Subway.
Carol Keegstra volunteered to cover the Pizza and Chili night party. Please RSVP to her if you plan to attend this even. Pizza night requires an admission of 3 cans for the food bank per person or $5.00. Chili night admission is a pot of chili or salad or dessert. John Clor, from Ford Performance, and his wife will be coming to our gathering. Please refer to the website calendar for additional activities.
MCA Report; The Millers were ill, and Lori presented the MCA report. There are four MCA shows this year:
Long Star Mustang National March 16-18, McAllen, Tx
Georgia on My Mind May 25-27 Grovetown, Georgia
MCA Mustang National July 13 – 15, Lincoln, Nebraska
Granite State Mustang Grand National August 31 – September 2, Merrimack, New Hampshire
Lori reports that 2-3 members will be going to the later 3 meetings.
The minutes from the board of directors meeting from October are posted on the website so all can see them. We have 35 valid MCA members and six that are invalid, expired or no number Millers will be filling out a Regional Club Form and will need these numbers if you are a current MCA member. When you renew your MCA or join MCA, please notify the Millers or one of the Board members.
Membership: we currently have 134 members who have renewed. Please renew your membership by the deadline 2.14.18. Dues remain $20 / year and they are not prorated if you pay after the due date.
Clothing/Merchandise: Joe was not at the meeting and there is no clothing/ merchandise report.
Website: Phil has run into some issues with moving the website over to Go Daddy, but he is working out those details and it looks like it will be a smooth transition.
New Business: Chris reported that there have been some inquiries into another trip to Gale Halderman’s museum. Chris said he cannot lead a group as his work shift has changed and he will be working many weekends, but he is willing to make a contact call if members want to go to the Museum and then folks can designate a leader and go. He also mentioned that it might work if we joined another club to go.
Chris also mentioned that if there are people who want to do weekday evening or day time cruises, let Chris know so the Club Calendar and be updated. Any person who wants to lead a cruise is welcome to and we can advertise it on the website and via email.
Country Dairy would like to hold a tour of their farm. It would be a nice ride out there and the tour would be about 2 hours. The dairy is in New Era.
The vendor letters have been mailed to 97 entities. The list and the extra letters were given to Kevin G. he will also see if he has other vendors we need to add to our list. He will get any extra names to Lynn so they can be added to the database.
Bren Speed contacted Chris and they would like to display 2 cars at our show. Marty Mieras also wants to display cars at the show. We will need to find a place in the show field to display the cars.
Early registrants will receive a goody bag and dash plaque. The first 200 registered will get a bag and plaque.
Berlin Raceway would also like to bring a car to display. We will again be looking for cars to be displayed up to 4 weeks prior to the show on Sunday during the Sunday services at Frontline Church.
The Church would like part of the lot for their carnival. They also planned to have hot dogs for sale. We will be contacting vendors with Food Trucks. Arturo’s might be able to do food. Fred’s does not have the capability of having remote food. We will try to contact the BBQ guy who was at our show in the past.
Tracey Stawasz will coordinate the volunteers for the show. Please contact her or Chris if you are volunteering.
We will again be filling Goody Bags the Friday night before the show. While the Goody Bag group is filling bags, there will be a contingent at the church preparing the car show lot.
Food for volunteers will be on Saturday after working all day; not Friday night after being there 45 minutes.
Kevin and Phil will work on a show flyer. It will need to be done so we can get the flyers out soon.
