West Michigan Mustang Club receives President's Award!
At the 2019 MCA Grand National our club was honored by MCA with the 2018 President's Award. The president's award is given to active clubs that host a regional show and donates to charity to name a few. On behalf of the club, Tom Miller Sr., Club President, received the award from MCA President Steve Pruitt. This is the 3rd year in a row West Michigan Mustang Club has received this award!
This was the last MCA show for the year. Check out the MCA website for the 2020 National Shows! It’s going to be a great year for Mustangs!
Car Show report: Dave reports that he went as far back as 2010 to send show invitations. He sent over 600 letters. We do not have records from 2013-2015. He also sent letters to about 86 Clubs. This year we had 52 attendees who are not Club members. We had 11 new attendees who are members. The decision (via motion and voting) was made to delete the years of names of folks who didn’t attend. We will keep the names of attendees from 2016 to present. Dave felt that mailing to other Clubs has paid off. Dave stated that “Dave Dunn is done.”
Our show next year is June 13, 2020. Frontline church has been secured for the Show.
Donations: We have $4000 to donate to our charities; Lori’s Voice, Veteran’s Home and Bethesda Farms. We will also donate $1000 to Aberdeen Church. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to donate that money.
Meeting Location: We are losing our meeting location at the end of the year. Heidi stated that her church has a room we can use. If anyone knows of another spot we can use or rent for a low cost, please let a Board Member know. We will be asking at Taco night if anyone knows a meeting place.
Sound Equipment: The club owned sound equipment was discussed. We need to have a place to store the equipment. If we must hire a DJ rather than have a Club DJ, the hired person might have their own equipment. It would have to be determined if the DJ’s equipment would be enough for a show field rather than an indoor venue. We have 6 speakers, a main unit, CD player, microphone and a small portable unit. We have some investigation and researching to do before we would sell any equipment. A couple members know DJ’s and we will get estimates for the car show and Metro cruise before decisions are made.
The meeting was adjourned about 815 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Plummer Trestrail filling in for Secretary Kevin Guzniczak.
