West Michigan Mustang Club Virtual Meeting 2.8.2021
Present were: Kevin Guzniczak, Joe DiLorenzo, Lori Stolte, Carol Keegstra, Phil Gibson, Gene Gibson, Jeremy Hoard, Dave Dunn, Maggie Turner, Dick and Sue Engel, Dave and Heidi Mull and Lynn Trestrail.
The meeting was called to order at 700 pm.
Secretary Report: The secretary report was read. There were no additions nor corrections. A motion was made, 2nd and approved to accept the secretary report.
Treasurer report: The Treasury report was emailed earlier in the day so members had an opportunity to review it. We have received $520 in membership renewals. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the Treasury report.
Membership report: Suellen reported that we now have 125 current families including two new families. She also reported she will be working on a new Hoofbeat aiming at distribution the beginning of March. During the pandemic times, there will be a Hoofbeat quarterly.
Activities: Heidi reported that right now, Ronda’s summer party is the only activity on the schedule. That is scheduled for June 19th from 4-8 pm.
Merchandise report: Joe reported that there are several show shirts from our 2019 show that have been paid for and never claimed. If you ordered a shirt and have not picked it up, please contact Joe (contact info on website). Joe reported we have enough pink shirts for sale, 14 flags and a couple hats. He also has an order for name badges. We have only sold 2-3 hats recently. Joe said we will have to order a few shirts. Gene suggested we get some hats engraved with our 40th Club Anniversary. However, we don’t want to order too many and get stuck with them.
MCA – Eureka Springs has opened registration. You can check the MCA website for more information.
WMMC 2021 Show: We have decided that with nothing ‘back to normal’ we are not going to try to have a traditional show. We are in the process of discussing a “show and shine.” We will not have registration. We will do some advertising and letting other clubs know we are doing a show and shine. We will not have trophies. We will order Dash Plaques. Gene will contact Tim to find out what our potential costs would be. We have the church lot secured but we don’t know if we will be able to use the inside. We will need to rent port a potties and wash stations. Kevin talked to JD with the Mustang Truck and he agreed to put our date on his schedule.
We had planned to use Daddy Pete’s BBQ for a food vendor in 2020 but had to cancel the show. Kevin will contact Daddy Pete’s to see if he can bring his truck to our show and shine. We are also thinking of having a ‘breakfast’ type truck. We may contact Tom Horton’s to come be a breakfast vendor.
When the Hoofbeats goes out we will ask if members will donate to a raffle. We could do a raffle outside in a pop-up tent if the weather is ok. (Any pop-up tents will need to be well anchored as this is something that is not allowed at our regular show for risk of ‘taking off’ in the wind and damaging cars.
Mid-Michigan Mustang is having a full show at Birch Run the 2nd Saturday in May. We will have to look at the State guidelines and see what is the maximum number of cars allowed. We would not park cars by category. If you wanted to park with a friend, then you would need to come together.
We also discussed potential costs for the event.
The MOCSEM Club summit is Feb 21st . This will be a zoom meeting. Our past presidents have attended in the past. Kevin has a conflict at the beginning of the meeting and asked if a couple members would volunteer to attend. Lynn and Jeremy will virtually attend the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 755 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Trestrail, Secretary
