WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB BOARD MEETING AUGUST 9, 2021 FRONTLINE CHURCH
Present were: Maggie Turner, Carol Keegstra, Rick May, Jeannie DeLeon, Gene Gibson, Joe DiLorenzo, Jeremy Hoard, Kevin Guzniczek, Sue Engel, Lori Stolte, Ginny and Gary Marble, Dave and Cindy Dunn and Lynn Trestrail.
The meeting was called to order by the President at 701 pm.
Secretary Report: The minutes of the last meeting were read. There were no corrections nor additions. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
Treasury Report: Lori read and reviewed the treasury report. There were no additions nor corrections. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the treasury report.
Lori also reported that Vicki and Ron wanted monies donated to the Club upon Ron’s death. It was suggested that we make a memorial reward to be given in honor of Ron at our yearly show. We will make an award to also honor Pete Vander Veen and maybe have their two cars on the dash plaque.
Membership: Suellen reported that we have 188 families in the Club.
Activities: Borgman will be hosting the WMMC on August 28, 2021, at the Metro Cruise. Marvin Mercury (aka Steve Morgan) will again be spinning the tunes. Please be sure to have your membership card so you can get a ticket for the meal that Borgman will be providing. The lot will be open to us at 9 am. Come on out, enjoy great friends, great cars, hopefully great weather, great music and a chance to see a variety of cars, not only our members but those traveling on 28th street.
Merchandise: Joe reported that he has ordered some shirts for our Club sales. Shirley at Rose’s said there has been a delay in getting supplies but she hopes to have them for the Metro Cruise.
MCA News: The Millers were absent so Lori gave the MCA report. Several members have been to Eureka, Arkansas and Kansas City and have won many medals. It was a successful show for those who went.
We need to have an Activities Director. This can be an individual, a couple or a team. They would be responsible for being sure the gatherings (taco night, Christmas Dinner, pizza night and chili night) are set up and keeping track of numbers. Taco night is October 16, and it will be at Frontline Church. It will cost 5 cans of food for the food bank or $5.00 per person. The Club will provide everything but dessert. We ask for volunteers to bring dessert. We have several members who have been involved in the activities for many years and they will offer help and guidance. Please consider volunteering for this fun position. Many hands make light work. Please contact any officer to volunteer.
2022 WMMC Mustang and All Ford Show
It had been suggested that we have a “judged” show. After some discussion and wise words from members who have been to many judged shows, it was determined that we do not have enough knowledgeable members to judge a show. We talked about judged vs nonjudged or nonjudged vs participant judged. We will discuss more as the show gets closer but we will likely have a participant judged show.
We are also discussing having fewer awards for each class. The award ceremony has become quite long and having fewer awards would speed it along.
We are again looking for Food Trucks. It was agreed that ‘Patty Matters’ would be asked to return. We would also like a truck for another lunch option, perhaps a coffee and donut vendor for early morning and maybe a dessert type truck. Several members are going to be looking into these various options.
We have requested that the Scouts Honor Guard come for the National Anthem. If they are interested, they could also do coffee and donuts and / or hotdogs, brats. Jeremy will be contacting a Scout Master he knows to investigate this.
Kevin reported that someone contacted him about some 65-66 parts that he wants to get rid of. Rick May said that Kevin can give Rick’s number to the person.
The next meeting will be September 13 at 7:00 pm. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings. Suggestions and volunteers are always accepted.
A motion was made, 2nd and passed to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 830 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Plummer Trestrail
WMMC Secretary
