WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB BOARD MEETING OCTOBER 11, 2021
FRONTLINE COMMUNITY CHURCH
Present were Jeremy Hoard, Joe DiLorenzo, Carol Keegstra, Maggie Turner, Lori Stolte, Kevin Guzniczak and Gene Gibson, Sue Engel.
The meeting was called to order by the President at 7:08 pm.
Secretary Report: the minutes of the September meeting were read. There were no corrections nor additions. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
Treasury Report: the treasury report was reviewed and explained. There were no corrections nor additions. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the treasury report.
Membership: We have 205 paid families. Three new in the last month
Activities: We are still in need of an activities director. If you are interested, contact any board member for more information. Many in the Club have helped with activities over the years and we will not leave the new director in a lurch. Please consider volunteering.
Fall Cruise to Middlebury Indiana was held Sept 24 to Sept 26. With stops in South Bend to eat at Portillo’s and then on to the Studebaker Museum. Staying at the Essenhaus Inn with Saturday making a trip to RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum in Elkhart, IN and a stop at Bonneyville Mill County Park on the way back. Approximately 18 cars made the trip that included great weather and a great time. Thanks goes to Dave and Heidi Mull for planning and leading this fun filled trip.
One day Fall Cruise was held Oct 10. We had over 20 Mustangs and 1 Escape. Everyone had a great time. Left the Devon Self-Storage on Plainfield at 10 am. Cruised north of Grand Rapids towards Newaygo. Stopped at Northern Trails restaurant and they took good care of everyone. Then the herd of Mustangs continued to Norm’s Ice cream in Fruitport. Great day was had by everyone. Thanks goes to Dave and Cindy Dunn for the planning and execution of this leisurely cruise.
Taco Night – This is October 16. There are 52 people RSVP’d. Kevin had list of food items to pick up at GFS – taco meat, hard and soft shells, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, black olives, onions, salsa, chips. 15 two liter of pop plus ice and water. Plates, napkins, cups. Tablecloths – Sue will pick up. Desserts – Carol, Maggie, Lori and others. Roasters – Kevin will bring two. 4 pm set up, 5 pm review by-laws, 5:30 pm eat,
Entrance to the Taco night is a $5.00 per person donation. We will collect this money and donate to a local food charity perhaps like Kid’s Food Basket.
We will be discussing the By Laws of the Club at Taco night. Please take a minute to review them on the website prior to our gathering. We will be having a vote to approve the By Laws.
You can RSVP and pay for the Christmas party at Taco night.
Christmas Party – Our Christmas Party will be November 6 at Frontline. The cost is $15.00 per person, $30.00 per couple. Reservations are due by October 26. RSVP with your money to WMMC, PO Box 150516, Grand Rapids, MI 49515
25 people so far has RSVP’d. Lynn and Sue will call Adeleine Leigh with the menu by Oct 22. Give caterer a count by Oct 27. Have church from 4 to 8. Set up at 4. Elections 4:30. Eat at 5:15. Start gift exchange around 6 pm with one steal. Will need numbers for the gift exchange. [Post note – Sue Engel has a lot of poker chips and will be numbering them for Christmas party.]
We will do our gift exchange and suggest a $10-15 gift for trading. We will NOT be collecting for Toys for Tots this year. Kevin will check into using the church’s sound system.
WMMC Renewal - You can renew your WMMC membership for next year at Christmas Party.
Elections: We will be having elections of officers at the Christmas meeting. All positions are up for election. If you are interested in President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer or Member at Large, please let Lynn know and submit a short bio of your history and relationship with the Club. These need to be submitted by Oct 20 if you are interested in an office.
Merchandise: Joe talked to Shirley at Rose’s. They are out of catalogs right now. Joe would also like to know if anyone wants to order items for the holidays. Please get your order to Joe DiLorenzo at 616 243 7446 or dilorenzojoe66@yahoo.com soon. Please contact Joe with any questions or if you want to see what is available. We have a minimum order that must be placed to get new items. If you are interested, Joe will be at the Christmas party and you can look at the catalog that night and place an order.

2022 MCA National Shows Mustang Club of America Report
For the 5th year in a row West Michigan Mustang Club was awarded the President’s Award. We receive this by earning 100 points. In earning these points, we donated to charity, new regional club members, sponsor a cruise just to name a few.
CONGRATULATIONS TO WMMC!
After The Great Mustang Round Up show ended, the annual judges meeting was held. Here are a few highlights from that meeting:
1) In Preservation class you are required to have a window sticker for your car. For the years 2005 & 2006 Ford can’t reprint the window sticker for these years. It was decided to allow the owners to use a Marti Report.
2) Classification - daily driver means that car is your primary car for transportation (they are working on an exception for people that live in the north)
3) Statistics – Participates drive an average of 410 miles to go to a MCA show, 40% drive more than 500 miles, 1/3 of cars are trailered, there was 100 cars that were first time at a MCA show in 2021, 40% were willing to be judged on Friday at registration but 60% was judged on Friday in OK.
The State of Michigan ranks 3rd in the MCA membership by state. There are 12 MCA judges in the state of Michigan.
