WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB BOARD MEETING MAY 9, 2022
BORGMAN FORD UPSTAIRS MEETING ROOM
Present were: Jeremy and Erin Hoard, Gary and Ginny Marble, Krista and Rick Boomers, Rick May, Jeanne DeLeon, Gene Gibson, Lori Stolte, Sue and Dick Engel, Joe DiLorenzo, Kristine and Michael Campbell, Marty Mieras, Dan Lemons and Lynn Trestrail.
The meeting was called to order by the President at 606 pm.
Marty thanked everyone for coming early. We had lots to cover before the show in June.
Secretary report: The secretary report was read. There were minor typo corrections and one correction that Rick and Gene are at the gate for the show, not parking.
A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
Treasury Report: The Treasurer distributed the report around the table. All expenses and income were explained. The report was reviewed. There were no corrections nor additions. A motion was made, seconded and passed to approve the treasury report.
Lori will also purchase stamps since the price is going up again. A motion was made, seconded and passed to purchase 1000 stamps.
Membership: Sue reported that prior to the Mustang Day gathering, we had 159 members. On the Mustang Day cruise, we got 3 new members and 4 renewals. Our count is over about 165. We have several newer members who are young and that is an important factor in keeping the Club alive and active. Special welcome to the new/younger members!!! If you are under 25, please remember to register your car for the show as a “young enthusiast!”
Merchandise: Joe reported that the merchandise is all sorted and ready for the show. He will not be present that day. Joe is also stepping down after managing merchandise for several years. Thank you, Joe. If anyone is interested in taking over the Club Merchandise, please let a board member know!! Thank you in advance.
Activities: There were 44 cars for the Mustang Day cruise. The folks after Aurora Pond and the veterans at the Veteran’s home were delighted to see us and both facilities were gracious hosts. We went to Robinette’s for lunch and had a nice spot to visit and enjoy the beautiful day. After that stop we went on to the Berlin Raceway. We were parked separately on a grassy yard which was dry and not muddy. We had an opportunity to drive a lap around the racetrack before the race started. It was at parade speed, so nobody blew an engine, leaked oil or burned the tires!! For those who desired, we were given tickets to the Race that night. So much fun!!! Thank you to all who participated in this event and thank you to all the hosts!
We have 3 Show and Shines scheduled at Berlin in the summer. The 3rd Wednesday of June, July and August are reserved for the Club to have a Show and Shine. We will need to arrive about 4 pm and may attend the race if so desired. Mark your calendars!
Our Club show is June 11. If you have not volunteered, please get your name to Jeremy or Gary Marble to sing up. Many hands make light work and with enough volunteers we can avoid volunteer overload. Please please!
June 25 is our Club summer picnic at the home of Ronda and Bryan Houseman. Please RSVP to Lori Stolte. Those going will need to bring chairs, a side dish to share and their desired nonalcoholic beverage. This is a great time to kick back, visit with members and laugh after our hard work at the show is done. Please RSVP to Lori soon so we can know how many brats to get.
