Greetings!
Sorry for the long delay in our MCA report. The weekend of October 14-16 we went to Gale Halderman Museum for the MCA National Board of Directors Summit. This was our first time going to this meeting. There were 34 regional directors in attendance. The most they have ever had before.
Our first speaker was Jim Owens from Ford Motor Company. Mustang has appeared in over 5000 movies, tv shows, commercial & videos. The Mustang is the most shared vehicle in social media. It is also the longest continuous running car name plate in North America. For the past seven years in a row Mustang has beat other cars globally in sales.
John Clor spoke about who Gale Halderman was to the Mustang and what the museum means.
David Morton from Mecum Auctions told us that Mecum has partnered with MCA for the past 5 years. If we would like a Mecum Rep to come to a club meeting to discuss the ins & out of Mecum to members, they will do that.
Chris Vandenburg from Hagerty Insurance spoke next. Hagerty just partnered with MCA this past year, with mustang the 2nd most insured car at Hagerty. They are based out of Traverse City. They offer garage tours that have 35 to 40 cars for clubs to tour in Hagerty’s garage in Traverse City.
Robin Paulsell spoke about the MCA Youth Membership. Youth memberships is for 13–18-year-old. It is a one-time membership fee, which it will expire at age of 18. MCA has 25 youth members to date.
10,410 ballots were sent out for the elections for the national directors, only 619 ballots were received back. This is not a good response to electing the MCA Board of Directors. As soon as you receive the ballot in your email, please send it in next time there is elections.
In the future MCA will be doing away with the Associate membership. They will be only having the Digital & Full memberships.
