WMMC BOARD MEETING NOVEMBER 14, 2022 BORGMAN FORD UPSTAIRS MEETING ROOM
Present were Maggie Turner, Rick and Krista Boomers, Gary and Ginny Marble, Gene Gibson, Rich May, Dan Lemons, Jeremy Hoard and Lynn Trestrail.
The meeting was called to order by VP Jeremy Hoard at 630 pm.
Secretary report: The report was read. There were no corrections nor additions. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the report.
Treasury report: The report was distributed. Expenses and income were reviewed, and the report explained details. There was one question: Has Frontline been paid for using their space for our Christmas party?
Merchandise: it was reported that one flag was sold at the Christmas Party.
Activities: Lori had written an activities report and that was read at the meeting. We are still looking for an activities coordinator so someone can keep track of what we have and what we need for our gatherings. The activities coordinator will not be alone. Others members always step up to help, we just need someone to coordinate and keep track of supplies and delegate duties. It was recommended that we set up a double line on Taco night. Pizza night is Feb 11, chili night is March 11.
Membership report: The last report shows 205 families.
MCA report: No report was given. See previous minutes for MCA news.
Old Business: has the donation been made to the Veterans? That needs to be completed.
New Business: A location has been secured for the pizza night in February and chili night in March. It was decided that we should go with fast food type pizza rather than restaurant pizza. Folks thought Jets would be good and getting their BBQ chicken pizza was requested. It was also agreed that a $5.00 ‘ticket’ would be appropriate. The location is Faith Lutheran Church at 3 mile and Fuller. Tentative time is set up at 430, gathering at 500 pm and eating at 530-600 pm.
The bylaws need to be changed to reflect the new price of membership.
Show Business: The 2023 car show will NOT be at Frontline Church. We were only ‘penciled in’ on the date and they have scheduled a big church conference, so our date was given away. Several members and family members contacted different entities regarding a car show location. Gary reported that he checked with Borgman and Matt would like to do that, but he feels there might not be enough room for the show in June. Cornerstone church on Kalamazoo and 84th has their lot booked for the date. Kentwood High School was contacted. Gary contacted Betten/Baker Ford in Coopersville and THEY REALLY WANT THE SHOW! A group will go on Wed 11/16/22 at 2 pm to look at the lot. The person Gary talked to said he wants the show and will do what it takes to have it there.
After the decision was made to go and view the potential show site, there was no other business.
The meeting was adjourned at 726 pm. The next show is Dec 12 at 630 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Plummer Trestrail
Secretary, WMMC
