I've been waiting a long time to finally be able to take on a restoration project, especially after having to sell my 67 fastback and 67 convertrible 13 years ago. The body is already being dis-assembled for sheet metal work in my garage. Yeah!!! This is an original barn find and a little old ladies car. It is a 1967 Mustang convertible, 289-2v, automatic, power top, power steering, remote mirror, standard exterior, and standard interior. It has 108K miles, but showed an oil change sticker on the door from 1976 at 92k miles. The car was factory undercoated and stored in a barn, but still shows extensive floor damage after 45 years. The project seems overwhelming, but I stay focused. 'The elephant is eaten one bite at a time.' Unfortunately, to repair the damage most of the mustang had to be dis-mantlled. The biggest problem is developing the right tools to do the job. I am really excited!!!

Very cool! It looks like a good base to start with. Keep us all posted on things as they develop. Here is an updated picture as I get down to replace the inner rocker and torque box. Even though I have done some of this work years ago, there are better tools out know for the hobiest to make faster work of a project this deep. It also helps that I work as a maintenance technician and we've expirimented for about 15 years. It makes it more enjoyable being able to get the job done faster. Attachments:

Man this is a huge project, but it certainly is coming together nicely. Keep on posting updates when you get them done! This is fascinating.

This is a current shot showing the removal of the rear floor over the rear end and rear shock mount. Most of the upper convertible top structure had to be removed in order to get to the frame. Not easy but can be done effectively. I also replaced both rear sub-frame ends. The new piece is on the trunk lid. As you see, this is a Michigan car; Detroit born and Detroit lived.
