There is only 10-12 of these in the whole world and thanks to my buddy Mike Winterboer who owns Fordsix Performance Parts in Mesa Arizona, I got my hands on one.
Theres 5 or 6 of us on the Fordsix forums that are friends of Mikes that are testing this head out for him. Production is supposed to sart later this summer and Mustang & Ford magazine has several articles coming up about this head and more stuff from FSPP.
Its a prototype (pre-production) aluminum head for a 200-250 ci Ford inline 6. It weighs almost 35 lbs less than the stock head and has a removable intake in place of the cast integral intake log thats part of the U.S. head.
It'll bump my compression to 11:1, has bigger valves, 1.80 and 1.55 vs 1.69 and 1.39 in the U.S. head. Exhaust ports are totally redesigned as are the intake ports. Has modern style combustion chambers (53 cc) bronze guides, SI stainless "port flow" valves, double valve springs, hardened locks & hardened keepers, & the modern smaller spark plugs. It also has cast in "bungs" for either multiport fuel injection or 6 nitrous injectors.
I'm going to be at the test & tune this coming friday night to see how it runs! ;D ;D
The head cost me roughly $1600.00 for the head, all the parts and to have the machine shop put it together.
Right now I'm borrowing a 2 Bbl intake from one of the Fordsix forum guys untill the new 4 bbl intakes come out in August or September.
Then I'm going to switch from my current 500 cfm Holley 2 Bbl to either a 390 cfm mechanical secondary or a 450 cfm vacuum secondary 4 bbl.
Heres a few pics of it,
Later,
Doug
