WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB
BOARD MEETING
March 11, 2013
Present: Dave and Cindy Dunn, Rick Bishop, Gene Gibson, Ron Wilton, Vicki Wilton, Dave and Heidi Mull, Chris Stawasz, Kevin Heinig,Scott Broekema, Jim Trestrail, Lynn Plummer, Jim and Barb Dahnke,Rick May,Tom & Julie Miller.
Secretary's Report: The minutes were read and a motion was made and 2nd to approve the report.
Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer's report was distributed and discussed and a motion was made to approve the report.
Old Business:
As of today we have 171 paid members in the WMMC. We are waiting for 58 members to pay their dues by March 30, 2013. Bill Binning sent 8 letters to advertisers to renew their advertising
in the Hoofbeat and on our website.
We had 55 people attend the Chili Cook-Off on March 9, 2013. We all had a good time and a happy time!
New Business:
Northpointe Christian High School has scheduled May 28, 2013 for the senior class graduation. The scheduled cruise will be to the Childrens Museum downtown. They will need 38 cars, 2 kids per car. More discussion later once we can contact Rhonda Vand**e for more info.
September 14, 2013 will be the Show and Shine at Keller Ford. Barber Ford's Show and Shine will be August 8, 2013. Borgman Ford's will be June 19, 2013.
The Steve Morrison Engines in Muskegon would like to have a Show and Shine on May 18th or May 25th. A free dyno will be offered. Rick May will have more information
at the next April board meeting.
The Quaker State and Lube Restaurant on 28th St. west of Patterson Ave. on the North side of 28th St., would like to host a "Mustang Sunday" for our club on June, 30, 2013. Maybe
a goody bag will be provided. They also proposed to give us 15% of the total spent by members, back to the club. More information later.
It was suggested that a winner from this years car show be pictured on next years Trophys. More discussion later.
Gene Gibson stated that the Post Office now has stamps out of Muscle Cars and some are Mustangs. It might be worthwhile for Mustangers to look into this.
Rick Bishop will check with Algeria Printing for our stamps, mailed and sealed paper work, 2-1/5 cents for stamps plus the cost of printing for 2014, for various types of mailings.
WMMC TRAILER:
Kevin Heinig checked with NNS Division of West Bend Mutual Insurance Co. out of Wisconsin for insurance coverage on our trailer. Rick May and Ron Wilton will also check
with their respective insurance companys for coverage. More discussion later.
From Ruth Graphic the letters for the WMMC words on each side would be approximately 48" tall and 42" wide while the back letters would be 36" tall and 31" wide.
From Extreme Graphics, the Pony Logo alone would be $500.00.
More discussion on the graphics later.
The Mustang Club of America said that if we want to use their logo on our trailer, we have to have at least 10 members in the MCA. Also, In order for a car to be judged at their car show
we have to be a MCA member.
Jack Rediker, previous owner of Rediker Ford is still hosting a picnic on April 27, 2013. Call Carol Keegstra by April 15th to register so they know how many to plan for. Bring your own
lawn chairs and bring a dish to pass. The meat will be provided. We will meet at Rememberance Church and caravan together to Mr. Rediker's home. Maps will be provided.
Car Show:
It was decided that the work shirt for the car show in June would be Safety Green. A worker who wants a shirt would be required to work all day Saturday. It would be
appreciated if that worker could work on Friday also. The shirt will have "WMMC Staff" on the back and the shirt sizes will be Large, Extra Large, XX and XXX.
The shirt will have black lettering. We will order 40 shirts.
Dallas Mustang agreed to give us two $100.00 gift certificates.
Cheers on Plainfield agreed to give us two $10.00 gift cards.
We will have many door prizes, hats, t-shirts, lug nut locks etc. for door prizes for our car show.
It was suggested by Rick Bishop of having a quick meeting 1 week before our car show in June, to discuss raffle tickets and door prizes.
We will need members to come early on Friday nite June 7, to set up the area for the Ford Cars.
WMMC Clothing:
The ladies V-neck T-shirt cost the same as the men's shirt. The ladies sleeves and overall length is shorter. Using one color for our shirts is less expensive than using multi-colors.
There will be 3 shades of pink to choose from for the shirts.
It was discussed that we should stock a quanity of 18-20 shirts.
There is still a $10 set-up fee for a batch. More discussion on this later.
If we decide to turn in our work shirts this year, Rick Bishop agreed to do all the laundry!!
