WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB BOARD MEETING MINUTES 4.13.15
The meeting was called to order by President Rick Bishop at 7:00 pm.
Present were: Rick Bishop, Ron Wilton, Carol and Neil Keegstra, Bill Binning, Chris Stawacz, Steve Morgan, Scott and Gail Broekema, Gene Gibson, Phil Gibson, Dave and Heidi Mull, Tom and Julie Miller, Dave and Cindy Dunn, Lori Stolte, Gary & Ginny Marble, Lyle Robinette, Tony, Abbra and Austin Raab
Secretary Report: The minutes of the March meeting were discussed. A motion was made and 2nd to approve the report.
Treasurer Report: The report was distributed by Ron and was reviewed by all present. Misc Expense was the largest expense on the sheet and this was for the purchase of the new PA/sound system. A motion was made and 2nd to approve the report.
Sound System: Steve Morgan reported that all pieces of the system have been purchased and everything has now come in. He has also picked up a table and mat to be used for the sound system . Gary Marble donated a CD/DVR player and gave it to Steve. Steve will hook it up and check it out to make sure it will work with the system. The club will now have two systems to use for the June show – one for each side of the building. We will need a second person to run one of the systems – Jim Trestrail has expressed interest in running the second system.
Activities:
Garage Hop scheduled for Saturday, April 25th. Must RSVP by Wed, April 22 to Bill Binning at 1-269-501-1895 or wbinning@gmail.com. Bill Binning will be passing out directions to each of the garages Saturday morning at Gilmore. For anyone interested, we will meet at D&W in Caledonia at 8:00am leaving at 8:15am for Gilmore's. Meeting at Gilmore at 9:00 am. There will be four garages, lunch at Angelo’s and ending with ice cream at Sherman’s. Gilmore Car Museum Dust Off Car Show , Saturday, May 9, 2015,. If interested in traveling together with the club we meet at the D & W parking lot in Caledonia, 1/4 mile south of 84th st. on M-37. We meet at 8:00am and depart at 8:15am.
Tapper Ford Mustang Show in Paw Paw, Saturday, June 6 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Free show, but please pre-register for the show so that they know how many people will be attending.

Seelye Ford Show and Shine in Kalamazoo, Saturday, June 13 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. They are located at 3820 Stadium Dr. Kalamazoo, MI 49008.
Borgman Ford Show and Shine, Wednesday, June 17 from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. Come see their new show room. Address is 3150 28th St. SW in Grandville.
West Michigan 34th Annual Mustang and All Ford show – Saturday, June 27, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm with set up the night before on Friday, June 26 at 6:00pm.
Preferred Ford in Grand Haven may be interested in doing a show and shine with the club. Gary Marble will talk to them to see if Aug 26, 27 or 29 would be good dates for them.
Kentwood Fourth of July Parade – Starts at 9:30 am on Saturday, July 4th, but be there at 8:30. Ron Wilton proposed participating in the parade for a cost of $20 to the club. Motion made and approved. For those participating, setup will be at Eastern and 52nd Street. Probably will go for ice cream afterwards.
Membership Report: 4 new members, we now have 215 members. We hope to sign up more members during the June car show.
Clothing: This week Dave will be picking up T-shirts for the show that are ready. This is both some additional worker shirts and shirts to sell at the show with some additional sizes.
Old Business:
John Clor sent a thank you note for the T-shirt and hat that were presented to him at the Chili Cook-off in March. He really appreciated the gifts and enjoyed coming to our event.
New Business:
Trailer: Chris Stawacz reported a discussion with Kevin where Kevin suggested putting shelves in the trailer to better store items and to prevent them from being crushed. Chris and Joe Kozuh determined that with about $200 plus some scrap wood they already have, that they could build and install the shelves. Motion made and 2nd to approve the purchase of up to $200 for the wood and supplies.
Web Site: Phil Gibson reported that our website is in dire need of a redesign and development. He has talked to Evan that designs websites and he is willing to do ours for $450 plus a Snickers. Motion made and 2nd to approve proceeding along this path. Phil will work with Evan to present a proposal at a future meeting. Rick will be donating the Snickers.
MCA show in Columbus Ohio over Labor Day Weekend is sold out.
WMMC Annual Show:
Awards: Gene Gibson passed around the awards – both the participant award and dash plaque. Both looked really nice. Motion made and 2nd to approve the purchase of the awards for the show. Will also have 4 additional plaques made to give to the Garage Hop Hosts and 4 plaques for Show & Shine Hosts.
Chris S made a suggestion to have this year’s Best Of Show used on next year’s plaque. Suggestion will be taken under consideration.
Scott reported that he has 12 vendors so far that have donated items for the show. Rick has 13 boxes of detail product from another vendor.
Registration: Rick reported that we have 50 ½ registered so far.
Sponsors: Gene has to sponsors and Rick reported 8 class sponsorships so far. Discount Tire will e donating about 300 goody bags that we can use.
Ford Trailer will be here for the show. They will arrive at 6:00 am Saturday morning and will park out front.
Raffle: We have a couple of buckets of detail items that can be raffled, a blanket from Rose’s embroidery, and Roz is donating a basket full of goodies.
Betten is looking to put four new Mustangs in their show room along with four owner cars. Possibly looking for a couple of 1969 Mustangs.
Rick and Tom Anton will be talking to Meijer about the possibility of using their parking lot to hold some the cars. Rick will also be talking to Meijer about cakes for the show.
Press Conference, May 21st at Village Motor Sports on Plainfield to promote the Freedom Cruise. We are hoping to pack the lot with Mustangs. More details to come.
