MCA REPORT: October 8, 2018 MCA Report Submitted by Tom Miller
With the arrival of October most of our thoughts are turning to putting our mustangs to bed for the long Michigan winter.
The MCA is working on elections of board of directors and getting ready of next year’s shows.
The regional directors meeting is being held the weekend of October 5 - 7 in Dallas, Texas. (Results to follow) They will be voting on new rule changes for 2019. Every year there are rule changes. If you are thinking about going to an MCA show, it is a good idea to look at the rules for your class. You can find all the updated rules on the MCA web site.
Tom also reported that he has received the President’s Award. Our Club earned 1 of only five in the Country.
Tom also repeated that if you are going to go to an MCA show please review the rules of the show for your car class!!
Membership: Lori reported that there are 237 members including 2 Young Enthusiast Members.
Merchandise: Joe reported no new business. He will have catalogs at the Holiday Party.
Old Business: All of our donations have been made except for the Veteran’s facility. That will be accomplished soon.
Lori also inquired about the Club having their own post office box rather than using their personal post office box. Lori stated that a 5-inch box is $12/month or $140/year. Lori will check into transferability of a box. A motion was made, 2nd and approved to have a PO Box for the Club.
The insurance question for the contract with Frontline Church for the show has been signed and sent back to frontline. We will add the church as a covered entity when the policy renews in the spring. It will be a cost of $25. A Club member who is an attorney reviewed the document and noted it’s a standard contract.
Pete VanderVeen suggested that we put the “No Dogs Allowed” statement on our flyer again. It was skipped last year, and some folks brought their dogs to the show.
New Business: Steve Morgan reported that he is resigning from being the Club DJ. Someone will need to get all the Club equipment and store it. It cannot be stored in the trailer. Steve has missed some family functions to be with the Club as there is no back up for him. If you have DJ experience and know how to run the equipment please consider volunteering for that position.
Election of officers will be held in November. Anyone who is interested in running for a position (Board Position or Member at Large) should get their name to Chris Stawasz or Lynn Trestrail so it can be included on the ballot. Thank you!
The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Trestrail
WMMC Secretary
