May 7 is the day we will do a National Mustang Day Cruise. We will meet somewhere early in the day, cruise around and end the cruise about 230 pm at Berlin Raceway. We will have a Mustang Corral there and participating members will receive tickets for the car race that night.
Berlin Raceway would like to host the Club for a monthly Show and Shine. Our summer Show and Shine dates are June 15, July 20 and August 17. These are Wednesdays and we will meet at 4 pm. Berlin is now affiliated with NASCAR, and they are very excited about hosting different car clubs.
This weekend Marty and perhaps Jeremy will be participating in the ‘Presidents Meeting’ held by MOCSEM via ZOOM. This is a great time for the different club presidents to share info and brainstorm.
Jeremy reports that Doug from the Kalamazoo Camaro Club contacted him. He invited the president and vice president to attend a meeting of their Club on March 20. Anyone else who wants to attend may attend and contact Doug with an RSVP. June 25 is the day they have in mind for a combined gathering, food and a cruise around Kalamazoo.
August 19-20 is the Woodward Cruise weekend. The Woodward Parade will be on August 20. They would like ten cars per club to join the parade. There will also be a Pony Corral.
There was some discussion about a fall cruise. Marty wondered if Dave Mull is planning another cruise. Marty will contact Dave himself. He is wondering if we should discuss a cruise to Gale Halderman’s museum. More to come.
MCA News: Tom Miller, our MCA liaison, was not present. Lori reported that there are shows in CA, SC, GA and NY.
Show Business: Gary and Marty discussed trophies after the January meeting and talked to Awards Plus about them. They think a plaque is a good idea this year. Kevin had other ideas for trophies and a discussion took place about the special awards that we want to do this year. The issue was not resolved and will be discussed again in March.
The National Vendor letters, sponsorship letters and show flyers are ready to be printed. They will be mailed as soon as they are printed. Several people volunteered to help with folding/ mailing. Lori has lots of stamps.
The food vendors are confirmed, the Scouts will do the Honor Guard for the National Anthem and they will have coffee and donuts in the morning. The port a potties have been ordered. The Mustang Trailer has been invited but his attendance will depend on the truck schedule. Gene is working on the parking lot lay out.
We are looking for a Volunteer coordinator and a sponsor coordinator. If you can help with those positions, please contact Kevin, Jeremy or any Board Member. The items from the National Vendors will be going to Kevin.
A motion was made, 2nd and passed to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 740 pm. The next meeting will be March 14 at 630 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Trestrail, WMMC Secretary
