New member to this forum. Just starting the restoration journey with the 1968 coupe that my dad bought new. It was his daily driver for decades and currently has 453,000 miles on it (!)
The good news is that it spent most of its life in California and eastern Washington, so it wasn't exposed to midwest salt. But, as a daily driver, it saw more than its fair share of bad weather. It's in desperate need of bodywork and paint.
I'm honestly kind of blown away at the cost of bodywork and paint these days. I can't afford the $25,000-30,000 that I'm hearing. And I don't have the time or the skills to do it myself. Wondering if anyone out there has a recommendation for a budget painter? Someone who can do a good job, but maybe not the absolutely perfect quality expected in a show car? Thoughts? Recommendations? Any advice is appreciated.
