West Michigan Mustang Club Board Meeting November 13, 2023
Borgman Ford Upstairs Meeting Room
Present were: Lori Stolte, Rick and Krista Boomers, Gary and Ginny Marble, Jeremy Hoard, Marty Mieras, Jim and Lynn Trestrail, Jeannie DeLeon, Rick May and Gene Gibson.
The meeting was called to order by VP Jeremy Hoard at 630 pm.
We received two thank you notes. One from the Snider family, another from Lori’s Voice.
Secretary Report: The minutes of the last meeting were read. Three corrections were made during the reading. There were no other corrections nor additions. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the Secretary report.
Treasury Report: The Treasury report was distributed. All income and expenses were detailed and explained. There were no corrections nor additions. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to accept the report.
Membership: Several members have already paid dues for 2024. Members will have an opportunity to pay membership at the holiday party. An updated report will be given in January. If NEW members signed up in September their membership will expire in January 2025.
Merchandise: Gary reports that folks are buying clothing and name tags, etc. He had a display of a winter hat with our logo that is available for order. He is NOT bringing all the merchandise to the Holiday dinner but will have a catalog.
Activities: Lori reported that 46 people attended Taco night. The chicken taco filling was widely liked. One person thought the beef mix was too spicy. It comes pre-prepared so there is not a ready solution.
Lori reported that 62 people have signed up for the Holiday party on Nov 18. Set up will be from 4:00-4:45 pm. We will have elections, a short meeting to inform members of upcoming events, dinner, a gift exchange and a holiday sweater contest.
We are looking at January 21 for an event at Glo Golf, Glo Bowling. More details will be worked out and we will set up an RSVP.
Kevin Guzniczek said that he would like to organize cruise outings for the Club. YAY! We will look forward to that!
We are still looking for a person to head up activities…or for a person to come up with an outing idea and make the plans.
MCA news was detailed in the October minutes. Check out the news there or go to the MCA (Mustang Club of America) Website. The 60th Anniversary show will be held in Birmingham, Alabama. Detroit may also be doing something on April 17 for the 60th Anniversary.
Save the date for pizza night on Feb 10 and Chili night March 9. Emiline King will be our guest speaker on Chili night!
Show Business:
Jeremy, Gene and Gary met with Austin at Better/Baker Ford Coopersville. Our show is set for June 8, 2024. The detail shop will be open and that is a restricted area. We will not be allowed any access to that area. The showroom restrooms will be available but the Detail Shop restrooms will not. There will be a room available for counting ballots. The banner must go between the sidewalk and the show area. The City will not allow the signs to be put by the street. We cannot use paint to mark the Show field. Chalk washes off. Several members are looking into alternatives.
We are going to need more help with parking. We want to have vendors come early by 7 am. Then we will have our show field designated and the vendors will not be dodging cars.
Several Food Trucks have been scheduled to come to the Show. Smokey B’s and Chik Fil A are planning to come. Jeremy contacted Patty Matters and may contact Fatty Lumpkins. They have several popular sandwiches.
Members would like the Coffee Cup guy to be contacted to be a vendor at our show. He was at the Camaro/Mustang show in Kalamazoo. He takes a picture of a car and then can put it on a cup during the show! More show discussions coming in the future.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 pm. The next meeting will be January 8, 2024.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Plummer Trestrail
WMMC Secretary
