The Gale Halderman Museum accepts donations to keep the doors open. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to make a $200.00 to the museum.
If you want to go to Halderman’s and have not notified Jeremy, please contact him as soon as possible. Kevin G is going to lead the cruise. The group will be leaving from the 76th street diner (Byron Center Location) at 5:00 pm on May 17. The trip should take about 4 hours. Hotels are filling up as there is a car show in Columbus so please make your reservations soon. The museum opens at 11 am, Food Trucks will arrive at 12 pm, John Clor will make his presentation to Rick at 1 pm.
The next day, May 19, is the show hosted by Mustang Club of Ohio at Krieger Ford. It is nearly sold out so make your plans soon.
We need volunteers for our show, especially volunteers with parking. We need folks knowledgeable with the different years and modifications, so the cars are parked correctly. If you have that knowledge, please volunteer! Modifications that count would be major suspension changes, engine mods or exhaust mods. Changing tires or wheels or adding window louvers, do not count.
The Club will provide burgers and brats for our summer picnic. The Club will provide table wear. Participants are asked to bring a dish to pass and their preferred beverage. RSVP to Lori Stolte at Lstolte320@gmail.com or 517-930-0561 by June 15.
July 27 is the date for Main Street Memories featuring a Mustang Corral in Port Huron. If you would like to go and show your car, you need to submit a picture and then if you are accepted you can be part of the corral.
Grand Pines Assisted Living, in Grand Haven would like to do a cruise in. Watch for more details to come.
MCA: Tom and Julie Miller won gold at the 60th anniversary show in Birmingham.
The show is in the Ozarks on May 24-26. DesMoines hosts a show in August and in October the show is in Savannah. Check out the MCA website for more information, updates and changes.
On June 23rd, Emeline King will be given the Congressional Gold medal Lifetime Achievement Award. The cost for the event is $65.
We again discussed an outing to the Frederick Meijer Gardens to see the butterflies. A member who was present said the butterflies have mostly hatched so it’s probably too late this year. We will add it to the calendar on April 12, 2025. Most won’t have their cars out yet so it will be an event, not a cruise in.
Show Business: It was mentioned that we have not gotten many donations from vendors. One member said that vendor letters should go out in December, before the budget for the next year is set by the vendor.
Jeremy reminded us that the pre-show meeting will be on June 3 at Baker Ford.
Marty will pull the trailer to the Baker lot.
Iconic Events asked if we want a balloon arch. A member mentioned that it’s expensive and not worth it. So, no balloon arch will be purchased.
Lynn will arrange for donuts and coffee from Delly Belly in Coopersville.
New Business: Gary showed the new show shirt. It’s quite nice. Gary wanted to know who he should put on back for sponsors and it was decided that Gary would get to pick as he knows who is/has donated and the amounts.
Smokey B’s has confirmed that they will be at the show. (Riverside Park has food truck Friday. That might be a good place to find another food truck for the show.)
We do not have a Color Guard lined up for the Show. If anyone knows
of a Scout troop that could do a color guard, please let a Club member know.
The meeting was adjourned at 750 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn P Trestrail
