Hi everyone, I heard about this group through a friend, wish I could join in on some of these events but my mustang took a crap on me figured I'd see if anyone can help me. I have a 1999 Mustang GT, Green Convertible, 4.6 ltr V8, 35th anniversary, 54,000 miles on it. I love this car to death, the problem is the timing chain went out, my shop is quoting me about 3 grand to fix it. Says the valves will need to be replaced too! It also needs a new windshield, and side mirror. If anyone knows of someone who would do this for a lower price, I'd appreciate any referrals. I'd hate to sell it, but I would to someone who loves mustangs and would appreciate the car, it has extreme sentimental value to me. If ANYONE CAN HELP PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

That sucks. =\
I don't know of anyone that specifically does engines off the top of my head, but I will ask around to see if there is a club member or someone that could be recommended for you.

Sorry to hear......
That is going to be an expensive repair, you may look into an used engine instead of fixing yours might be less expensive.
I don't know of anyone down there that would do it on the side for you but if you are looking for a good shop check out L&V auto repair, a good friend works there (Mike) and is brother to the owner (steve). Probably won't be any cheaper but will be done right.
