Secretary's Report: The minutes were read and a motion was made and 2nd to approve
the report.
Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer's report was distributed and discussed and a motion
was made to approve the report.
Old Business:
Wayland Ford Show and Shine was a good turn-out on July 20th.
We had 41 cars participate.
Wayland Ford would like to do another one for our club before this season is over.
They must have 10 days notice for a date to work.
Our club received a refund of $462 from the cancellation of our original Insurance policy.
We signed up with another Insurance Co. so the trailer would be covered.
Quaker Steak and Lube, where we had our 2 Show and Shine's and dinner, gave us
$75, which went to the Food Bank at Rememberance Church.
Rick Bisop suggested mass mailings on the internet for our car show in June. Early registration
forms could ask for e-mail addresses and then we could inform the participants that we have
received their check. This will save money for the club by eliminating the mailings.
money for the club.
Perhaps we could have special trophy's for the 50th anniversary next year at our car show
in June, 2014. Also, Betten Ford will have a contact person for our club to communicate
with about putting cars in the new showroom.
"Ford" will try to bring their own trailer to our car show next year.
I believe CINDY JACOBS did the laundry for all the shirts from last years car show!
New Business:
The Drone or remote controlled hover craft that flew over Betten Ford on the day of our
car show did not have permission to do so. It was in violation of the FAA rules and
may be taken to court. Next year any Drone must be registered with the FAA and
be able to prove it.
Clothing:
The selling of clothing from the catalog is going quite well!!
1.4-5 pink shirts left.
2. We will order more shirts in the spring.
3. We need a minimum of 3 days to order the shirts.
4. We will have long sleeve polo shirts for the fall season.
A member of our club has a straw hat with a black cloth band and would like to have the
Mustang Logo and Mustang Club in letters printed on this band. We will contact
Rose's Embroidery to see if it can be done. It will cost around $26.
It was suggested we could put the sponsors on our t-shirts for next year's 50th anniversary.
More discussion later.
August 13, for our Betten Show and Shine at Cheers, there will be a donation can for the
Wounded Warriors Charity.
On August 27th at Cheers Restaurant, we will discuss the classes of cars, perhaps to consolidate
some of the the classes for next year. We welcome input from our club members and then
any changes will have to be passed by the board.
It was suggested we change the flyer for next year's car show to show the 50th anniversary
of the Mustang and to take the map off the back.
It was suggested that anntena flags be made by Rosies's Embroidery
with the Ford Logo on both sides. More discussion later.
A "ground" Mustang sign sign will be made for our club with the WMMC Lettering.
It was voted upon and passed by the board.
It was suggested by Chris Stawasz that we consider Alpine Rental for future rental equipment
for our car show. More discussion later.
Events:
Mid-Michigan Car Show in Flint on September 15 is judged only and it is done
immediately as you drive into the area.
SpringField Illinois will have a Mustang Show on May 23,2014. Holiday Crown Plaza
was a suggested place to stay. More discussion later.
Angelo's Eatery in Kalamazoo was a suggested place to have Pizza and Ice Cream
for an event for club members. Rick Bisop and Bill Binning will check for details.
The color tour to Traverse City for September 27th weekend is well on its way!
We have 26 people now registered for the trip. A trip to North Peak Brewing Co.
is scheduled for Saturday. Sunday will be a trip to Mission Point. Dave and Heidi Mull
will pass out maps at the Metro Cruise nite at Pals Diner on August 22nd.
Those people leaving Friday will meet at Rememberance Church at 10:00AM.
We will need someone to organize a later time period to go up north, for those
who work on Friday.
More discussion later.
Taco Nite is scheduled for November, 2013. Carol Keegstra will check with Rememberance
Church to plan this event.
Borgman Ford will host our club again this year for the Metro Cruise. We will have tickets
this year to pass out to the club members for eating. The dealership said only club members
can eat because of the rising cost.
The Christmas Party will be in January, 2014. A consideration is Brann"s Restaurant. Carol
Keegstra will check on availability of renting the Banquet Room because of the number of people
we expect to come this year.
Date to keep in mind:
September 14- Keller Ford Show and Shine
Meeting adjourned at 8:35p.m.
Respectfully submitted
Vicki Wilton, Secretary
WMMC
