WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB
DECEMBER 14, 2015
The December meeting of the WMMC was held at the Aberdeen Reformed Church and was called to order at 7:00 pm by Vice President, Chris Stawacz.
Present were: Chris Stawacz, Gene Gibson, Jack Wolff, Scott Broekema, Ron and Vicki Wilton, Dave and Heidi Mull, Tom and Julie Miller, Jeff and Lori Stolte, Bill Binning, Neil and Carol Keegstra, The Engels, Gary and Ginny Marble, Dave and Cindy Dunn, Kevin and Ruth Heinig, Phil Gibson, Jim and Lynn Trestrail.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read. It was brought to the attention of the Club that the Enhanced Driver’s License is only ok for driving into Canada. To fly into Canada, you must have a Passport. After
that correction a motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
The Treasury report was reviewed. Questions regarding miscellaneous expenses were addressed. The “clothing expense” listed on the report was actually the clothing purchased to make a donation to the Veteran’s home as decided at a meeting after the car show. The “miscellaneous expense” was to pay for our website permit.
Ron also reported that the Club received a Thank You note from Feeding America for the $250 donation.
Old Business: The trailer will likely need a new roof. Chris will talk to his brother in the spring and address that. For the winter the Club trailer is “in the bag” that Roz had made.
Chris talked to a staff member at the IRS and could not get the Club’s ID number. A number was found: 763009 but Chris was not told what that number represents. The Club has not filed documents or an annual report since 1996 and the State automatically dissolved the club on 10.1.1997. Lengthy discussion followed regarding the next step in our course of action to reestablish and restart our Club. Chris is off work with a broken leg and foot and will try to get to the IRS and spend a day and see what he can ascertain about the Club. He will also call our Club member who is an attorney. Once that is determined, we will have new/updated By-Laws. The By-Laws are currently being reviewed and updated.
The Christmas Party is January 9. Doors open at 4, set up at 430 pm. Volunteers will be needed to help with set up but more will be needed for teardown and clean up. Catering will again be by Adeline Leigh. So far 65 people have made a reservation. For anyone interested in participating we will again do our gift exchange. Each person bringing a gift will get a ticket and will get to pick a gift. We need to get out on time so helping hands for clean-up will be great.
Dave Dunn reports there is no merchandise news.
Dave and Heidi Mull report that there are 2 two bedroom suites available for the 2016 Fall Color Tour.
Bill Binning reports there are currently 263 members. Mark Long has agreed to be the new Membership Chairman.
The Kline’s were not at the meeting so there was no MCA update.
Gene removed the Club belongings from the basement of the Betten Used Car Sales Building Due to accessibility reasons, the monthly meeting will be at Aberdeen Reformed Church, 1000 Aberdeen NE, Grand Rapids.
The meeting was adjourned at 815 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn P. Trestrail
Secretary, WMMC
