Mustang Club of America Report
For the
West Michigan Mustang Club
Greetings from Buffalo, New York. We are writing this on our way home from the Nickel City Mustang Roundup MCA Show. Kudos go out to the Western New York Shelby & Mustang Club for a wonderful show. The show was right at the host hotel parking lot. Also, we would like to acknowledge the Marriott for the facility & staff. Both was just excellent. The show featured over 300 mustangs from 30 different states and Canada. Thursday was a little wet but Mother Nature must love her mustangs because Friday, Saturday & Sunday was just perfect! About ¾ of the cars arrived by Friday were registered and on the show field. This made early judging a success.
The vice president of the New York Mustang club was a retired police officer and a current councilman for Lockport. He coordinated the car cruise to the Locks with the different police departments. We drove 17 miles with 250 mustangs. It was a police escort done by 5 different police departments. They also blocked off intersections for us. After we got to Lockport, the city closed down a road for all the mustangs to park by the place where the dinner/cruise was at. It was a wedding venue, so it was gorgeous. The food was very delicious. They had 1 paddle boat and 1 boat that was modeled after the boat in the movie African Queen. The cruise was very interesting. They took us into 2 different locks and back.
At the awards ceremony they had 2 military men come in and do a flag ceremony. It was very moving.
The New York Mustang Club outdid themselves. They did an excellent job in coordinating the whole show. They also said they may be doing another show in the future probably at the same venue.
West Michigan Mustang Club had 5 cars that went to Buffalo, NY MCA National Show.
