WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB BOARD MEETING 1.9.2023
Present were: Gary & Ginny Marble, Dick & Sue Engel, Krista Boomers, Lori Stolte, Gene Gibson, Rick May, Vicki Wilton, Jeremy Hoard, and Lynn Trestrail. We had a guest who is new member, Tim Shinevare. Welcome Tim!!! Happy to have you as part of the Club.
The meeting was called to order at 635 pm by VP Jeremy Hoard.
Secretary report: The secretary report was read. There was one correction; Joe DiLorenzo was in charge of merchandise, not membership as stated in the December minutes. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
Treasury report: The treasury report was distributed. The donation to the Veteran’s Life Enrichment fund was completed. Members asked what the Life Enrichment Fund is, and Lori and Lynn explained that to the members. The donation from the production company has not been received. Lori has investigated this and is pursuing it. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the report.
Membership report: Suellen reported that we currently have 110 members. New member Tim Shinevare joined at the meeting this evening. Membership runs until Feb 14 and you many pay dues at pizza night.
Merchandise report: Joe was not at the meeting, and he is giving up merchandise. He will inventory the goods and then it will be ready for someone to pick up. Gary Marble is considering doing merchandise and will let us know. If he decides he will pick up the merchandise.
Activities report: Pizza night. This will be held at Faith Lutheran Church at 2740 Fuller St NE. The cost will be $5.00/person. Payment is due upon arrival at pizza night. Set up s at 430 pm, with pizza between 530 and 600 pm. Lori has checked out a few pizza places and all things considered, it sounds like Papa John’s will be the best choice. The Club will provide table service, salad and drinks. Please remember to RSVP to Lori at lstolte320@gmail.com or 616 517 0561. Please let Lori know if you have dietary concerns (gluten free, dairy free etc.). If you are inclined to bring a dessert, please do so.
Chili night is March 11, also at Faith Lutheran Church at 2740 Fuller St NE. Please RSVP to Lynn Plummer Trestrail at 616 540 1940 or loplummer@comcast.net. Set up is at 430. Please bring chili, desserts, chips or salad. The Club will provide table service and drinks. Please advise when you RSVP if you will be bringing chili. Making sure there is enough chili will make a better night all around.
MCA report: Tom and Julie Miller were not at the meeting and no report had been submitted. Lori reported that the first show is in Albuquerque and the 2nd show is in Indianapolis. Several from the Club are going to that.
Old Business: Lori is getting estimates from different insurance agencies. Our premium seems high so she is going to talk to others who have a tow vehicle and a trailer and get some comparisons. Our policy is due to renew in April.
New Business: Dan from the K-zoo Camaro Club contacted Jeremy. He would like to alternate sites for the combined show. They may want to stay in Kalamazoo this year as they may want to make this a memorial show to a deceased member. If not, those present at the meeting felt that holding a 2nd show 4 weeks after our show would be cumbersome. It was expressed that having the volunteers to staff a show and having music and raffle prizes all might be difficult to obtain. Jeremy will await more info from the K-zoo Camaro Club.
Show Business: The show flyer is done and ready to be printed. The sponsor form is ready and National sponsor letters are ready.
We will try to get colored paper for the voting books. A new class has to be added to the voting books.
We need to get a design for show shirts this year. The new member, Tim, thinks he can develop a shirt design. He was asked to bring it back within one month (February meeting) and we can decide yes/ no. If it’s not ok, we will put a plea out to members for a design. If anyone wants to make up a design and submit it before the February meeting that would be great.
We looked at many award designs and narrowed it down to 3 awards. Gary brought many designs, and it was difficult to make choices. All of the designs were nice.
There was no further business. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to adjourn the meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Plummer Trestrail
