Mustang Club of America Report
For the
West Michigan Mustang Club
Greetings!
We decided to explain more on the new MCA show classes, so here it is.
New Class PCR – President’s Choice Rental. This was necessitated thanks to (the completely legal) action of a show registrant showing up with a rented car. In Melbourne at the Fun in the Sun Grand National, two entrants showed up with rented 2022 Shelby GT-H’s. In such a case and going forward, the MCA President will have sole responsibility for judging these entries. Donald Farr captured the development in the November Mustang Times. Page 18, to be exact.
New Class PCB – President’s Choice Youth. We will now also ask the President to judge any such entries based on the Occasional Driven judging sheet to allow the youth to start accumulating points towards a Red Grill Medallion.
New Classes ODZ and DDZ are being created in that the current occasional and daily driven judging sheets cover the internal combustion engines and the judges felt that it wasn’t fair for a EV – Electric Vehicle to receive a pass on all the engine points. The current judging sheets therefore are being updated to cover only items pertinent to EV’s. The overall available point totals will be reduced but the percentages required for gold, silver and bronze will be scaled accordingly. There will be updates to the scoring results on the website once we have the documents in place.
All these changes should be in place for the 60th Anniversary show next April.
Some housekeeping reminders: Each year no later than March 1 all MCA regional clubs are required to submit their Annual Report to the MCA. This responsibility falls on yours truly to generate and includes several metrics on the club. Examples are details on the club Officers, as well as detailed listings of the general membership as well as the MCA membership component. THIS IS WHERE I NEED YOUR HELP. As your WMMC membership renewal comes around (and of course when you submit your renewal!) please indicate that you are a current MCA member and include your MCA membership number. Join the MCA if you have not. Support the national organization!
Finally, the next official MCA function will be the Q1 2024 BOD Meeting and Annual Officer Installation Banquet. This one again will be held in conjunction with the huge Mecum auction in Kissimmee, FL. The auction dates are Jan 2-14 and if you have a Mecum account and are watching your updates, they are expecting over 4,000 lots to roll across the block! The BOD meeting as always is open to MCA general membership.
Hope everyone has a great Christmas and of course a Happy New Year!
