WEST MICHIGAN MUSTANG CLUB BOARD MEETING MAY 13, 2024
Faith Lutheran Church Gathering Room
Present were Lori Stolte, Kurt & Cindie Kline, Gary & Ginny Marble, Jeremy Hoard, Jim & Carol Tefft, Rick & Wendy Bishop, Rick & Jean May, Gene Gibson, Dave Dunn, Dan & Steffi Lemmons, Maggie Turner, Marty Mieras, Jim Trestrail and Vicki Wilton.
The meeting was called to order by President Marty Mieras 6:38 pm.
Secretary Report: The minutes of the last meeting were read. There were a couple small corrections. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the minutes.
Treasurer Report: Lori distributed the Treasury report. Deposits and expenses were reviewed. A motion was made, 2nd and passed to approve the Treasury report.
Membership report: Lori reported that we currently have 165 paid members as she received two more yesterday.
Merchandise: Gary – no major update.
Activities:
* May 18, 2024, is the trip to the Gale Halderman Museum. Rick Bishop will be receiving an award at Gale Halderman. John Clor will present the award. Museum opens at 11 am and food trucks arrive at noon. Robert Kennedy author of ‘Unbridled’ about the Mustang II is going to be there. Give a call to Jeremy Hoard if you want to drive down with a group. Some are leaving Friday around noon and others are leaving later in the day Kevin will no longer be able to lead a group down to Ohio. Kevin laid out a map to take down. If anyone would like to lead the group, please contact Jeremy. Over a dozen cars probably going down to Gale Halderman
* May 19, 2024, is the show at Krieger Ford in Columbus, Ohio. Krieger Ford Show is sold out for their Sunday show but you can still go as a spectator.
* May 27, 2024, WMMC has been invited to Memorial Day parade at Old Fashioned Days in Fruitport. Parade starts at 2 pm. Line up at 12:30 at the middle school. See the calendar for more detail.
* Sept 8, 2024, Classic Car Show in Charlotte Frontier Days at Eaton County fairgrounds 11 am to 3 pm
* Coopersville – Train Robbery – June 8 or June 22. Summer train – last Friday, Saturday of each month starting in May through Sept. Regular train ride is $30. They would work with us and possibly give us our own coach if we have enough people. Murder Mystery starts at $55 – is only in July 12, 13, 19 and 20. Or wait for Pumpkin train or Halloween Train is every Sat and Sun in Oct. Octoberfest train is every Sat in October dress up in German outfits. Contact Marty Mieras if interested in one of these train events. Let him know which one would has the most interest to you so that we can see where we may have the largest group to be able to put something together.
* June 8, 2024, is the WMMC show at Baker Ford in Coopersville
* June 22, 2024, is our summer picnic at Howard Dunton Park in Holland. Picnic is 10 am to 2 pm. Brats and burgers will be provided along with tableware. Club members attending the event are asked to bring a dish to pass and their own beverage. RSVP to Lori Stolte by June 15 at lstolte320@gmail.com or text or call 517-930-0561
* July 1, 2024, is the cruise in at Clark Home on Franklin. Enter at Sherman St Entrance. Check out the calendar on our website for more info on these events.

New Business: Meijer Garden – check next year for the Butterfly event
Show Business:
* Still need lots of volunteers. If you can or plan on volunteering, please contact Jeremy Hoard. You can just volunteer for an hour or two, you do not have to work the full length of the show.
* Pre-show meeting June 3, 2024 at Baker Ford. Meet at Baker Ford in Coopersville at 6 pm for the pre-show meeting. Please plan to attend especially if you plan on volunteering for helping with parking and registration. There will be a walk through of the parking lot and other areas where everything will be placed. This is the Pre-show meeting only and should be done by 7 pm as the dealership closes at 7 pm. Bring your own chairs for the meeting as we will be outside doing a walk through and set up of the different areas. For anyone interested, Marty suggested going to dinner at 76th Diner after the pre-show meeting.
* We have another food truck - Dodger Dogs is a Food Truck. Sounds like they have hot dogs, brats and ice cream. They are confirmed for the show.
* Now have two food trucks for the show with Smoky B’s and Dodger Dogs
* Food vendors will be placed across the road on Ford side. WMMC will put up cones to create a walkway. Need 6 yellow cones. 2 on curb side, 2 in middle, 2 at end. 6 pack - 28inch for about $118. Jeremy has been approved to purchase and the cones are on their way.
* Need people on Wed to mark the parking lot. Gary has chalk paint and they approved that we can use it. But they want us to come back with power washer to take it off. Please contact Jeremy Hoard if you can be of assistance.
* Jeremy met with Austin at Baker.
* Dealership said they can assist with setting up parking. It will be tighter parking this year than last year. But will have additional room as the Ford Trailer will not be at the show and the food trucks will be across the road which will free up that section of the parking lot.
* Raffle and registration – set up same as last year in the detailing area. Will be setting up better barricade for the detailers. The detailers are now their employees not a separate company. They have stations that we can use to help block it off better. General public not allowed in detailed area or in the restrooms in the detail area.
* Dodge dealership has extra inventory. They will try to empty the parking lot for our show but makes it tricky for spectator parking.
* Extreme Truck and Auto is now owned by Baker Ford. For people trailering in their cars, the parking lot can be used to park their truck/ trailer, unload then and drive their car down to the show lot.
* Ford Mustang trailer will not be at the show as they are in Iowa
* Boat in the parking lot owned by salesperson will get pulled out. Semi trailer that was there last year is still there. They don’t know who is responsible for it so it may or may not be there.
* Porta – potty’s - 4 toilets and 2 wash stations. Jeremy will reach out to get an invoice and drop off time and placement. Same company as last year – Plummers.
* Marty will bring the WMMC Mustang trailer to the dealership on Friday. This has our show supplies – tables, trashcans, markings, etc.
* Using their used car lot is out of the question because it will already be full plus having the extra Dodge vehicles there.
* Volunteers should be there by 6:30 am Saturday, June 8, to get everything set up
* Entrances – need to make sure they are blocked off and stay blocked off so that cars do not come in through other areas.
* DJ – Steve Morgan is all set to come
* Some members will be there on Friday night to set up
* Marty Mieras will be doing the goody bags
Gary Marble made a proposal for a ‘Best Ford’ award. 1st and 2nd motion made. Passed. We will have both “Best Ford” along with our other awards.
* Gary should be on track for show shirt. If you would like to pre-order a show-shirt, please contact Gary Marble by May 31st. Jeremy will work to get a blast out.
* No Color Guard yet – we do not have anyone yet. If anyone knows of a Boy Scout, Cub Scout, etc group that would like to open our show, please contact Jeremy Hoard or Marty Mieras.
Additional business:
Board meetings will be held at Faith Lutheran Church at the corner of 3 Mile and Fuller for the remainder of this calendar year will be at the church
Regular board meeting will be Monday, June 10, 2024 after the car show at Faith Lutheran Church here at the church
There will not be a July 2024 WMMC board meeting.
