Hi!
I have an '06 that I'm looking to revamp. It came with a cheapo non-functioning hood scoop when I bought it in '08. I like the profile of it, but it needs to be removed (it now looks matte and it's starting to lift from the hood). I'm even considering a new hood altogether. I've gone to Banner Collision (in Lowell) in the past but I'd like to maybe find something a little closer. Recommendations?
Thanks!
Allison

Go see Steve at Carstar collision on Plainfield Ave N.E. North of Leonard street in Grand Rapids. Mention Chris from The West Michigan Mustang Club referred you.

I've heard very good things about Carstar as well. I've had very good personal experience with Abra Auto Body on 28th street as well removing a small dent from my door in my Mustang and repairing the bumper/taillight on my Saab after someone hit me while parked.

I have had good success with Carstar on Plainfield. They have worked on both my Mustang's and 2 other vehicles in my family with excellent results. They have also done some custom work for me in the past that come out great.

Thanks for the quick replies! Next question: What are your recommendations as far as getting a new hood goes? I know original is best, but I like the way the scoop looks and I really don't want another glue-on.

I think Dave/thunderfoot1992 got a TruFiber hood for his last Mustang and Carstar said it was one of the best aftermarket hoods they'd seen. Not as much work to do on them before paint. Check out Tru fiber and have Steve at Carstar- Star collision on Plainfield Ave take a look at your current hood to see what can be done. Tell him Chris and Dave From The West Michigan Mustang Club sent you.

TruFiber has a good selection of hoods for the 05-09 Mustangs. The hood I bought fit the first time with no trimming. Just a bit a sanding and it was good to go. Attachments:
